SSX Review
After getting the newest SSX game for my girlfriend as she's a huge fan of the classic SSX games, I played it while she was away at her family's got a tad obsessed with it all. I have also played the ones on the game cube and playstation so I knew what to expect.

The good

I have always loved the look of SSX, the untouched smooth snow mountains and the huge drops giving you a chance to go crazy with tricks and rack up those points! The controls are so simple, in either of the control aspects. The bottoms are fluid and gives you an idea of what your hands are doing of where they need to go. With the joystick, it's kind of like on skate games where directions respond to moves.

The game also has multiple characters to choose from and level up. You unlock these just like in any other game, though the main campaign. The difficultly of the campaign gets harder as you play on but towards the end it shoots right up and until you figure the best routes and jumps, you are going to struggle. In my opinion, that's good, I have always loved a game where the ending is almost impossible, or has a huge boss, it makes you feel as if you have accomplished something.

There are also some other amazing things you can do in the game. Other than just the campaign there is the explore feature and the online aspect letting you compete with other players. It's a well rounded game in most aspects.

The bad

Although the game is great, there're going to always be some faults. At first I notice the loading screens, they are not too long but you do wait and many games these days have been able to get around loading screens where you feel like your just waiting and staring into space.

After playing through the game a bit more I notice there isn't much points to money, atleast not in the campaign. Money is made so you can buy better gear, clothes and boards. However the stuff you start out with, is already better than the stuff you can buy, so why pay to downgrade? Also the clothing aspect of the game isn't the same as the classic games, previously you could pick from an array of trousers and tops and much more now, it's just changing the colour of your clothes and if your lucky you get the option to buy the rare "glowing" set of clothes (just some lights...). It's not as good as I remember.

There are also some other little things that bugged me however they were not a such as an issue as te problems above.

My conclusion

Although there is a lot to do there is also a lot of problems which could easily be fixed. I had a lot of fun playing the game and unlocking the characters and I know that my girl friend will have hours of fun too. I am going to award this game 63 out of 100. It's a fun game to play and it will keep you going with a lot of objectives to complete but try not to get too frustrated.
