Top 10 Video Game Songs

BloodyDisgusting: I've mentioned it before, but I'll say it again: I'm a huge fan of a good video game. What's better than easing back into a couch with some snacks and a couple of drinks and getting lost in some fantastic world that couldn't possibly be real? Not much I tell you...not much. So, because of my love of gaming, I decided to list out 10 of my favorite video game songs. Heads up: some of you younger gamers might have no clue about a few of these games. If that is the case, go and play them and see what you've been missing all along.

Some good ones on there, but not all.

For these "best video game song" lists, it's essential that you take into account only the music and not the context surrounding it. Therefore, you leave as much personal bias out as you can along with the special connection you have with the game.

That being said, I'd remove:
- Silent Hill 2 - Take the premise of a horror survival out of the context, and the music alone is just weird.
- Dead Island - Again, take the video and screams away and listen only to the music, and there's not enough of a climax for it to stand on its own. If anyone heard just the song and knew nothing about this Dead Island trailer, they'd forget about it the next day.
- Secret of Mana: Fear Of The Heavens - Good, but not a Top 10.
- Phantasmagoria 2 - duuunnhh duuunnnnhh.... duuuunnh duuunnnhh duuuunnnhhhhhhh... Repeat. That's it? Sorry, that's not a song.
- Mortal Kombat - Don't get me wrong, this is a great song, but it's from the movie, not the video game.
- Lunar the Silver Star - I understand the author's love for the game, but the music sounds like what the orchestra would play in the background while reviewing nominations for a movie award.

...and replace them with:

- "To Zanarkand" from Final Fantasy X - Nobuo Uematsu is without a doubt one of the best composers for video games. He doesn't do many piano pieces, but this one stands alone. ( http://www.youtube.com/watc...
- "Time's Scar" from Chrono Cross - Great game, great intro, and great song. ( http://www.youtube.com/watc...

I don't have the time to give more thought to make a complete Top 10, but these 2 have always been at the top of my list.
