Limbo, Toy Soldiers, Super Meat Boy, Moday Night Combat, Perfect Dark, A World of Keflings, Plants vs. Zombies, and many more came out on XBLA with very high regard in the core community.
Y3 came out a year ealier in Japan. Demon's Souls was a year earlier in NA. Same with most of the JRPGs. Sony can't claim exclusives for two years consecutively just because they staggered the releases in different territories. LOL.
Where were the Sony core games in 2010? I can count four worth talking about... GoW III, GT5, Heavy Rain, and MAG. The recycled Sly Collection does not count as new at all... I would not classify Mod Nation Racers a core game either...
Meanwhile Microsoft shipped Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, Halo Reach, and Fable III... Not to mention the decent quality third party core exclusives Metro 2033, Tropico 3, and Splinter Cell Conviction... And a timed AAA 3rd party exclusive in...
These kinds of articles are a waste of time before the year begins. They should only be done in retrospect after all the games are released for the year.
Any comparison right now is purely speculation. 50% of the games won't even ship in 2011 due to delays. And another 50% of games aren't announced yet...
You get what you pay for on the network side...
Everyone loves the free PSN, but what they don't realize is that it takes a lot of money to run a game on a network with over 3 million online users for a single game.
This is why I don't complain about spending $60 / year for Live. It just works. I don't know what merit a complaint has on a free network. Why is there an expectation that it would be equal to Live?
I agree. These motion controllers are for a different style of entertainment and interaction. I wouldn't even call it gaming.
I call it Social Entertainment not Gaming.
You will see none of these controllers at professional gaming competitions anytime soon.
A lot of people don't understand...
It costs time and money to make things great on the PS3... That is why only the first party games are looking and playing better on PS3. Sony spends the time and money. 3rd party publishers don't get console game royalty revenues to fund their development cycles being longer or more expensive.
When Sony makes it easier to develop games on PS3 they will get superior games as well. That's the difference be...
I think people are missing the point.
BR isn't catching on for two reasons. Decent sized 1080P TVs (where BR looks best) are too expensive for many people and the actual movies are too expensive.
3D has two problems as well. Requiring 3D glasses when everyone knows there is tech out there to do 3D without glasses (Why buy one now when you know this gen of TVs will be replaced in 3-5 years). And again price.
When those consume...
I bought it last week. Just I have bought every other Cabela game this generation in hopes there would be an improvement.
To my shock, it is a good game. PRobably not a 9/10. More like 7.5-8/10...
Much improved graphics, solid framerates, and pretty good story mode are the main things. I have played through the first chapter in story mode and half the second. But from what I can see, the worst part about the game is that it may get repetitive after a...
Obviously drinking way too much Sony Kool-Aid. You could just pick up your handy-dandy xbox controller and use it as well.
Halo 1 and 2 re-made in the Halo Reach engine would be worth $60. Add in all the multi-player Reach maps like they did from Halo 3 to ODST, and Re-make all of the original Halo 1 and 2 maps that haven't yet, + some new ones, and you'd have a complete game worth the $60 price tag.
With compression technologies that Microsoft are providing the disc size is not an issue.
Or you could just buy the Prince of Persia and Splinter Cell games for the XBox and play them on your 360. If you look around at Gamestop you can usually still find them...
That's because 360 has some "backwards compatibility". Remember, the feature that Sony dropped so they could charge for HD re-makes and bring down the price of their console before they got booted out of this generation.
I don't agree with the arguement in this particular case. When you buy a car there is often things that you could buy afterwards. Better tires, new stereos, seat covers, spoilers, etc. The car comes complete to drive, but more can be added if you choose.
What irks me is when things are incomplete. I bought a vehicle last year, that came with tires rated for only 20,000 kilometres. When I went to buy new tires (only a year after the vehicle was bought) I found out t...
Good Point.
Guess it is just a good game that is getting a second bump for the holidays.
But, I still believe that the sales of these games will be stronger this holiday because of the GT5 delay... People want to put something under the Christmas tree, since GT5 is not there, they will put something that is instead.
This is because the PS3 has no new exclusives except the Move titles for this holiday season. Funny how everyone was slagging 360 for not catering to the core gamers this holiday, but it ended up that Sony is completely ignoring the core gamer this holiday.
So gamers are flocking to the multi-platform holiday games and games that were released earlier in the year. Expect NFS and Assassin's Creed to get better sales on PS3 then 360. Also, CoD BO will get a boost over ...
Square has been making sub stnadard games for over a year now...
Kane and Lynch Dog Days = Fail
Just Cause 2 = Average
Front Mission Evolved = Fail
Lara Croft GoL = Average
Final Fantasy XIII = Average
Final Fantasy XIV = Fail
Kingdom Hearts = Fail
If Square doesn't pick up their game they will fall into oblivion. Tomb Raider is behind Uncharted, Kane and Lynch is garbage, Just Cause 2 wasn'...
Yep, it has really sucked for Microsoft...
They have been at the top of the weekly console sales chart world-wide for the past few months, the PS3 is losing ground to Xbox 360 weekly, and almost every good game (Except Sony and Nintendo published games) ships on 360 and receives excellent sales.
Microsoft really hates the decision to not go with blu-ray and I'm sure the 3D stuff will be the same. Whoever thought 3D with glasses would drive console sa...
The sequel hate comes more from the choices that the game developers make then from it being a sequel.
Usually a game gets a sequel if it was a great idea to begin with... Gears, Halo, Uncharted, etc.
Game developers almost always attempt to do some significant changes in the first sequel and many times that does not go over well with the gamers who loved the first game.
In the third game, developers look at what went right with the ...
You get what you pay for...
Goes and turns on the X360 version to notice there are no issues...
