I think Killzone:SF will be the best in that series and finally give Sony a true competitor to Halo.
It may not be the "Halo Killer", but it's getting closer with each iteration.
I think Sony has plenty of great titles, continue to have great IP development for each cycle. Do they need a bonafide mascot?
I guess "on rails" is a little off base.
You have admit, the more linear a game, generally speaking, the better graphically it is.....and a lot of these linear games have scripted moments that tire at the 2nd/3rd playthrough. The storytelling/ dialogue in TLOU was exceptional. Gameplay did not reinvent the wheel or innovate.
I admit Sony's stable of exclusives are superior. We all know it comes down to the exclusives, but people act the sys...
720p is not so bad. Most mighty PS3 games run at 720p. It's a launch game. I think it looks great. Cheaper than some launch titles. PS3 had a shitty Gundam game at launch, xbox360 had Kameo, and wiiu had a bunch of great games everyone else already played or could get on other systems they already own.
Launch titles seldom showcase what the system is capable of.........Sun still rises in the East, and haters gonna hate.
Aside from Infamous series, PS3 games are "on rails". Linear games. Of course they would look better than most games. COD always looks great too, on the 360.
PS3 does has more better looking exclusive games due to MS giving up the ghost on exclusives.
In my opinion, LA Noire looks as good as Heavy Rain, Red Dead Redemption looks better than Infamous series, Gears of War series looks as good as Killzone series. Tomb Raider reboot looks as goo...
Who dey gonna beat them Bengals? NOBODY!
And Gears of War looked great when it did come out for the 360, so it delivered as far as I'm concerned.
Popped in Killzone 2, was amazed by opening cinema, but I remember a tech demo of that game at e3 that wasn't the actual game. Started playing and while the games graphics are good, but not near the quality of that tech demo or opening cinema.
Popped in COD:Modern Warfare on my 360 (a game that is almost a year older than Killzone2) and I thought ...
He's right about Killzone being a looker, but gameplay lacking. Was just playing single player Killzone 2 and the graphics still stand up (the game was released in 2008) but still can't finish it.
KZ:SF looks really good though. If I was getting a PS4 on launch, it'd be the game to get.
Graphics do look really good for a launch game. Gameplay looks kinda repetitive and unexciting.
I'll need some hands on time to make my verdict.
@ Chevalier & Indo
PS3 exclusives are great, but can they ONLY be done a PS3? No. The PS3 is not so vastly powerful over the 360 that the exclusives couldn't be done on a 360. Rage is on par graphically and runs at a smooth 60fps (although the game itself is not that great) with the likes of some PS3 exclusives and it's multiplatform. COD games look great too because of it's limited scope.
The point I'm trying to make is, PS3 is ...
I'm hoping they learned from xbox360 hardware failures. With all the tweaks recently, gives the impression that they shoehorned in a little more horsepower, but have they've done extensive testing on the system with said improvements?
Hope it doesn't melt/catch fire. That'd be one expensive plastic puddle.
Illumaroom is a neat concept, but buying a projector isn't in most people's (including mine) budget.
Kinda wonder how it looks in person, how it looks draping images over objects in your environment. From videos, objects (chairs, tables, etc.) would break the illusion for me, but accumulating snow on floor was a cool effect.
The title of this article is misleading. If you read it (you won't), they are comparing it to last gen xbox360.
I always thought the Sony claim that some of their games could only be done on PS3 was horseshit.
Games like God of War, Uncharted, Last of Us, and MGS: Guns of the Patriots could be done on 360(if they weren't exclusives), they'd be on multiple discs and probably still wouldn't be as good graphically as PS3 versions, granted.
Now, just tighten up that framerate.
Maybe PS4 owners will get to play it next year if it is truly a timed exclusive.
I'm still on the fence about it as a purchase for my xb1. Forza 5 is my only definite right now. With Xmas around the corner, can only get a couple of games for myself.
I don't think that most people know unless they have access to the production floor.
You can guess and may even be right, then you can prance around and chant "I TOLD YOU SO!"
Hooray for you, Nostradamus.
Rrod 2?
That is unconfirmed. I don't believe you have the inside track on the xbox one hardware architecture. I don't either, but grasping at straws just to make the xb1 look bad is pretty petty.
We all know the xbox360 had serious hardware failures and many(including me to the price of 2, and my brother is on console 3) were burned . Enter the slim 360, problem solved. I'm sure they figured out overheating.
Don't know what you mean by dlc milking. Forza 4 and Forza Horizon have a lot of content without dlc. Some of the cars have to be installed off of 2nd disc though. (DVD ROM not big enough for all of content)
They release car packs throughout games lifecycle. No different than any game's dlc, but Forza still gives you a lot of bang for your buck.
If the tables get turned on Sony, I hope xbots take the the high road for once.
I doubt any new info (especially pro-MS) would silence the trolls/ zealots on either side.
They may indeed. Don't know why you'd show all your cards to the competition.
Maybe Sony has something yet to unveiled too. Who knows what goes on behind the scenes? Sony and MS, and they've been pretty tight-lipped about it for the most part.
Well, except for all the grandstanding done by Sony the last few months. They certainly like to toot their own horns (with good reason). Just remember the old adage "Pride cometh before the fall&qu...
That tidbit of info was suprising to hear. If MS is hiding something, they fooled me.
I thought the specs/components looked generic and underpowered (and as of now are) compared to PS4.
I'll say the NDA has hurt them from the get go. MS still has time to turn it around.
The next gen console wars have barely begun.
I'm worried again that Forza 5 doesn't have enough vehicles to be a full-fledged sequel.
If the game doesn't have at least 250+ automobiles and 20+ tracks they should change the name to Forza Lite.
