That's the point. N4G runs an advertisement service that advertises to you based on what you browse for. I checked out the specifications on a car, and I wound up with ads for that car for weeks. That's what Google Ads does, though I'm not sure that's what N4G uses.
Evony, through creating so many different domain names (according to the video), is gaming the advertisement system and jumping into everyone's N4G ads. That's why you and I see so many of them. Actually, it's r...
@AlphaMale - Just wanted to let you know that you said "People have the choice to choose." I'm just sayin'.
The analysis was pretty good, even though L4D2 isn't on the PS3.
Really? I don't think Square would release a gimped PS3 version to the US just because the 360 is getting the game. Granted, some of the audio will change in localization, but I don't see any reason why the lossless compression audio format won't also be in the US version. Much less at stake in the localization process is the resolution. We're not talking about Sega being handed the port job here, this seems both legit and awesome.
@Pandamobile- Cool post, but there is a good PS3/PC contingent here. What better alternative to the 360, after all?
Osmos for two bucks! Loved the demo, and now I'm in.
If Microsoft really names their new console the Xbox 720, I will laugh for days. Maybe it'll have "Tony Hawk Ride 2: Electric Sidekick-loo" packed in. I really don't think that will be the case. Sony will have PS4, which is easy enough to say, but Microsoft will need a new name for their new system. Especially if they're planning another followup- The Xbox 1440? That would be superior marketing right there.
I don't care whether or not there's a good amount of evidence supporting this post, this was hilarious. You win!
The DualShock 3 has an awesome D-pad - it's much better for fighting games and old-school arcade gameplay. The 360 controller feels better for shooters. Since I could care less about shooters, I won't go near the 360 controller, but I could see where some people would like it.
However, the best controller for those shooters is still a keyboard and mouse... so combine PC and PS3 and you've got the best setup! Honestly, what's the problem with bringing a PC into the argument? I...
Seriously! Saaking has it right - we weren't thinking it was a PS3 announcement. It would be nice if it came to PS3, but that's not the only way to play this game. Many of us have PC's, and we'll be enjoying a game that 360 fans seem to perceive as Xbox360-exclusive right alongside them. Possibly on a Sony Vaio. Why not? They're pretty good machines.
That's pretty much the correct response here. If it's an awesome game and not some botched port a la Bayonetta/Orange Box, I'm interested. I'm still not a fan of the whole Halo story or aesthetic, but Bungie does a good job in crafting a well-balanced game.
As a PS3/PC guy and a big fan of Rez and Lumines, I wasn't turned off to Q when stuff got released on Xbox Live. I was pissed that it wasn't also on PS3, but I'll still support Q. Plus, I think that was Sega's fault... ...
This seems like it has a review-friendly slant. These were some of the big hits of the year, although looking back some aren't as good, i.e. Resident Evil 5 (a pretty good sequel with an awful ending) and Scribblenauts (an awesome idea that controls like a flaming pile of junk).
My list would look something like this:
#10 Demon's Souls
#9 Dragon Age
#8 Demon's Souls
#7 Dragon Age
etc.
...and that's why I'm not making lists!
They're following, I guess, by providing a subscription service, but they've done this with Qore already. If the stuff we've been enjoying for free is still free, we PS3 folk still have every right to put thumbs to noses and flip the bird at the 360 faithful.
They're trying something new, but it'll need funding. That's the point. They will be innovating, but innovation doesn't come from nothing. It comes from great creative staff, who have expensive salaries to pay.
This is a Kaz Hirai communication. His role in the Sony corporate structure is different now - he's the guy who jumps across the different silos of music, video, games, etc. and attempts to connect them. What I'm thinking is that his first real project in this position will be this premium content - possibly subscription-based usage of all Sony music and HD video content for a price, akin to what Rhapsody tried to do with its subscription service.
Who knows? Chances are I'm ...
It's a trap! Loved the column, but maybe the N4G heading should have said something about it being a joke. I especially loved the part about the "foam wedgies that will soften the blow."
He does have a good point about the iTunes service. Apple likes to tout the fact that they're the thinking-man's company in the tech industry, but it's sad that iTunes has turned symphonic movements into "songs," and it is kinda like breaking up Wittgenstein or Kant into ...
WOW and CoD4 in the top 10, and Nintendo love dominates. The Nintendo stuff's always been a trend in the lists, I guess, but considering some of the not-so-goods that made the list, I think they should have included:
Demon's Souls (honestly, this should be a no-brainer!)
Dragon Age (PC, I mean, they put Baldur's Gate II in there...)
Shenmue (Forklift included)
Rez (My icon says it all)
Lumines (Tetris Attack? come on!)
And one for the "W...
Getting married in FFXI? This happens?? Okay, my fiancee is awesome for being a gamer, but this is just ridiculous. I guess this is why I avoid the MMO scene like the plague.
L4D2 is 30fps on the 360? I didn't know they had to do that. I'm running it on a middling PC and having no problems with it going 60fps with great graphics. Wow. Considering Valve's porting track record, I wouldn't be surprised if it was just sheer laziness, but that's a bit much for a company that loves the 360 because it's so easy to move stuff from the PC to it.
Found an interesting opinion on the Dragon Age DLC today from Gamers with Jobs. Thought I'd share it: http://www.gamerswithjobs.c...
Makes you think of what could happen to gaming later on if we don't support the DLC "accessories" we're getting right now from games like L4D2, and even the concept of L4D2 coming out a year later. I'm not saying he's right, as it's a bit extreme, but there's definit...
"Lowest Common Denominator," eh? When I think of that, I think of the Wii audience, to tell you the truth... or at least the people that buy multiple DSiWare clocks. Doesn't the DS still rule the market? The Wii drop put it ahead for a small time period, but that'll go away. They'll still sell them, especially with the DS Oldpeople (DS XL) coming soon.
That's your bottom line. That's your LCD. Believe it or not, those crazies talking trash in all caps and homopho...
@Dchalfont - Wow, where in the West can one just walk right into a job? I'd like to move there. Just finishing a very practical Master's degree, but the job markets are constricting quite a bit, and some of my hardest-working friends are still finding it tough to get that entry-level position.
I understand what you're saying. Japan does have an extremely competitive culture, but keep in mind that they're expecting numbers to go down quite a bit soon:
I remember days when I'd stay inside playing games and at some point I'd think to myself, "I should be out on the town like everyone else, that's what regular people do on Saturday nights." Thinking that you're supposed to do something just beca...
