Yeah, he's not just an angry kill everything monster. He spends most of 3 protecting Pandora. He sees the death and destruction he caused and that it was all for naught. He forgives himself for killing his wife and daughter. He sacrifices himself to give hope back to the people. He's not just one-note. He did what any husband/father would have done under the same circumstances. And that was just in 3. There are a lot of character moments in the other games as noted above.

You should already have known it runs at 30fps or unlocked 60fps on Pro. Why'd you buy it when you think 30fps is unplayable?

They could be winning at 100 things but there's only two things that really matter. Total sales (business) and games (consumers). MS is getting wrecked in both categories. Actually, there's another one. Public perception. MS fails at all 3.

Ascension wasn't a good game for the series. I really don't know how they messed it up considering there were 5 games prior to it from 2 different studios and a different director for each instalment. The combat system was just all wrong. It didn't feel good to play and the magic system was the worst yet. The boss fights were disappointing as well. My feelings on the game weren't because I was fatigued on the series because I bought and played GoWII HD (owned it for PS2) and G...

Phrases like "multiplayer-centric" ; and "games as a service" along with the idea that they're doing something completely out of their wheelhouse doesn't instill the confidence I had in Housemarque. I get that this was a business decision because the awesome games they made didn't sell very well but I don't see this new path being any more successful for them.

Plus, terrible "announcement trailer." That video alone doesn't t...

God of War 2018 might as well be a new IP considering how drastic the changes are from the previous games in the series. Seriously, if the main character's name was Svenson and didn't have the red tattoo, people wouldn't even think to compare them, that's how different they are.

McDonalds is a great place to eat 3 meals a day 365 days a year...if you don't care about your health.

I agree. Clear lines need to be drawn for devs to cut off support for the previous hardware. Backwards compatibility is fine but forward compatibility can't be a thing because it just hamstrings developers. MS is in a crappy position with the X1X because they can't make games that fully take advantage of the console. All they do is upres the base game and add a few effects.

Plus here's the big reason why it won't be a thing. The sales for the Pro and X1X are...

If Microsoft or Sony came out with this idea they would have been laughed out of the industry. When Nintendo does it, it's, "innovative and exciting!" Go figure.

Ragnar would be awesome as Hades! I think Momoa would be a good choice for Kratos. Also, they shouldn't even bother with it unless they get a hard R approval from the studio. I would want the movie to be as violent as the games, including the new one.

I think having a robust library of exciting new games and new IPs would pay off a lot more than being able to play original xbox/360 games on a $500 machine. Yeah BC is good to have, but it's only good if it's in addition to new content. What is their differentiating factor over PS4/Switch? BC? That's it?

When selling a new console, BC should be last on the list of features. "Our console can do this, this, this, that, will have these games, these hardware s...

Methinks Detroit will be the next critical success. Then Spider-man. Then Death Stranding. Then Ghost of Tsushima. Then The Last of Us Part II.

Fury Road is one of the best movies ever! I'm not surprised his influence on Cory was extremely positive.

Why do people think the two are mutually exclusive? It's not a one or the other proposition. Gameplay over graphics. Gameplay over story. Why can't we get games with great graphics, great gameplay, and great stories? The answer is we already do. Just not from MS.

You can combine Gold with Game Pass all you want. Still doesn't solve the lack of games on the system that would make someone want to buy one and more importantly, keep it.

Sony and Nintendo keep bringing new games to their consoles while Microsoft is hung up on "We just added MORE original XBOX games to our BC lineup!!" That's great and all IF they had games that made use of the XB1 hardware in addition to adding BC titles. People aren't going to pony...

I like that this new Kratos was set up at the end of GoW3 (contrary to what haters say about how Kratos is just an unlikable rage monster). He saw the havoc he caused to the world and he sacrificed himself to give hope back to the people. AND he forgave himself for what he did to his family. Barlog was a contributor to that game's story so it flows naturally into the new game.

Also, Kratos wasn't just all rage. He showed depth in games like Chains of Olympus, Ghost...

Exactly this. MS isn't harping on cross-platform play for the good of the gamers. They're doing it because they're in a position of weakness and they want something, anything, for people to throw shade at Sony. The average gamer, which is what the majority of console buyers are, don't care about cross-platform play. They don't even know what that means. Out of the 90 million PS4 owners, a tiny fraction is made up of hardcore gamers who scour the internet message boards all...

10 million first year is a good number to aim for. It'll sell a lot more over its lifetime though. Horizon Zero Dawn did 7.6 million in 12 months and is still selling.

I can't see it reviewing under a 9 to be honest. 90% meta is the floor. The game ticks all the right checkboxes. Exploration, brutal combat, character progression system (leveling, armor, skill tree), intriguing setting (don't see a lot of Norse myth in games), engaging story (hopefully), a more thoughtful/mature Kratos, ridiculous graphics, a pseudo new game plus mode, UI customization, multiple difficulty levels (super casual to hardcore), no microtransactions/loot boxes, forthcomin...

You can launch Spider-man anywhere on the calendar and it'll sell incredibly well. Yes, even up against games like Red Dead 2.
