What do I need to accept?
I'm no programmer, so I can't say if the PS3's hardware is badly designed or not, all I know is that it gives developers trouble, but when a developer is savvy enough to work with the machine, we get God of War 3, Uncharted 2, inFAMOUS 2, Ratchet: ACIT, Killzone 2 and 3, LBP 1 and 2, Heavy Rain, etc, etc.
Badly designed or not, the library of titles released/releasing on the PS3 shames just about EVERY other gaming platfo...
I've yet to come across a quality series in which a sequel, or subsequent sequels, have been WORSE than the original:
Super Mario Bros 2 and 3 were amazing, as were
Legend of Zelda Sequels
Devil May Cry sequels minus part 2
MGS 2 and 3
Sly Cooper 2 and 3
God of War 2 and 3
Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4
Killzone 2, Liberation, and 3
Resistance 2, and presumably 3
Uncharted 2
Little Big Planet 2
I can see why Carmack would prefer the 360's architecture over the PS3, but it's kind of disappointing that such a prolific programmer would shy away from a difficult architecture, instead of grabbing the bull by the horns and expanding his horizons.

I finally picked up Alpha Protocol for $25 bucks and I'm really enjoying it.
It suffers from the typical Obsidian lack of polish, but it's a surprisingly quality Western RPG. I used to work at Obsidian, so I have a soft spot for the devs there, but I really think Alpha Protocol got the short end of the stick from reviewers.

what's so fucked up about the whole thing is that there are threads on sites like neogaf, where people are actually COMPLAINING that some video games got canceled/delayed.

I signed up for it. I already have an idea or two for a mission set, and I'm eager to get my hands on inFAMOUS 2.
Out of all of the betas I've been in, this is the one I'm the most excited about landing. I hope I get in.

I'm not a huge MMO fan, but DCUO has me hooked, and a Transformers MMO could actually be really cool, especially if you get to design your own Autobot/Decepticon/Insecticon/ Dinobot, etc.

Not everybody that is a fan of the PS3 is against the Xbox 360.
Take me, for example. I own a PlayStation 3, AND an Xbox 360. I enjoy them both quite a bit.

Good job alienating gamers that may be interested in your titles (Gears was never my cup of tea, but I certainly enjoyed the first two when playing at friend's houses).

inFAMOUS 2 is easily my most anticipated game of this year, and there are LOT of amazing games hitting, but inFAMOUS 1 was sooo good, and Sucker Punch has a knack for delivering a sequel that SHAMES it's predecessor (see, Sly 2 vs Sly 1).
DCUO is such an enjoyable game, and a breath of fresh air for me in terms of MMO's. The combat makes a HUGE different in the enjoyment factor for me. I've never been a big fan of the "Press button > Execute attack > Wait forever for cool down > Rinse and Repeat" style of combat in other MMO's.

2009 was a GREAT year for the PS3, that's for sure, so was 2010, but 2011 is looking to swamp that in every way.
I'm glad Kojima is ok, but my sister, nieces, nephew, and brother-in-law live in Japan, so I'm a little gladder that THEY'RE alright.
that would be great, but i just don't have the gaming budget to fit in all of the amazing PS3 exclusives and multi-plats hitting this year AND drop $300+ dollars on a PSP2 and a game or two (although, it'd be great if there were some smaller, $10 titles available on launch on the PSN).

i've been looking for more 360 titles to play, and i've always been a big fan of Tenchu (and Acquire games; i'm a big fan of Way of the Samurai and Samurai Western as well as Tenchu).
