If the claims we're that there are tech demos and shovelware, than the claims are accurate. If the claims are that there's nothing but demos and shovelware, then the claims are inaccurate. There's plenty of content and it's getting better every month.
I mean, he's a marketing guy. What would he say if he told the truth? That they have no hope of catching up with the competition who has way more original content, innovations like VR, and a larger user base? He's got to play off of what he has, and it's a Hope and change message. Can't fault him for doing his job, and I'm sure some people believe it and think Xbox has truly turned around at this point.
Ok, I'll bite. How is that interesting?
How's this for a crazy theory - what little risk exists for Sony's bottom line on this is the group of people that will now buy an X1X due to more power and not having to sacrifice their friend base due to cross play. But it'll be a year or so (probably more) before you really see cross play make it's way to most mainstream 3rd party titles. By then Sony will have a new console announced that will leapfrog XB1X, and actually go the other direction to suck userbase out of Xbox ...
I ran the demo on highest settings and 4k display using a 1080 card, and it stayed pretty close to 60fps the entire time. I think it looked pretty good, but the car models and movement looked weird to me. Floaty and unrealistic somehow...
That would be awesome. I hope they're really willing to go that far. I'm sure we'll have to rely on game chat vs. party chat, but that's fine.
Great couch co-op
I've been looking forward to this. Can't wait to play
Thanks. That falls in the exporting "objects" category. The next level of that, which would be radical I think, would be to export working code (in C++ I'd imagine) that implements the world that was created, including the logic, importable into the Unity environment. It would probably require them to expose a lot of their IP (assuming their runtime engine is an interpreter), but man that would be open and powerful. Make a game in dreams and, with a little extra work, have it ru...
I wonder if they could/would provide a service you'd access on a PC to export a saved Dreams world to a Unity project. So that creators could take their games cross-platform. They spoke about exporting objects earlier, wondering how far they'll go...
I'm saying just because one company is making tons of money with one game doesn't mean that's going to be the way most companies will make money in the future, and people need to drop what they're doing and try to copy Epic.
Not to take away from Fortnite or GAAS, but Fortnite has to be treated as an exception not the rule. I wouldn't tell my kids to forget grades and focus on baseball based on the top earner in the league.
Hope they profited for the good games they did put out. Also hope there's a good market for talented game developers and artists out there
"I’m pretty sure putting their 1st party games on PS Now wouldn't hurt sales."
I'm pretty sure it would. Do you think people would buy the games they get included with their sub? I think not.
They're there. Just press play, no download required. Get in the game faster than you can with GamePass, right?
Game Past
In 20 years they'll be releasing little classic PS4s with this game on it ;-)
Like a lot of us have been saying, the download is the easy part. Streaming is technically challenging. Just like that and PSNow leapfrogs Game Pass from a functionality perspective. I'd be surprised to see them throw a game like Spiderman in there though...
I care, especially as it pertains to portable gaming. I loved when the Vita allowed for cross play and cross saves, so you could continue on the go. That dream died, and it would be nice to do the same with Switch and someday Mobile. But it's fair to say that I'm a minority here and there aren't that many games that are cross platform for switch anyway so who cares. But in my perfect dream world i could keep playing any game on a portable device when I'm away from my house
You know I just thought - can you imagine the workout we'd get if they disabeled the crouch button?
