If they can figure out how to make it a social and connected platform the power might not be a huge drawback for people. I wouldn't say this is positioned for the serious gamers... They're trying to make a play for the mainstream. I don't know how they make it "cool" to be seen in public wearing one of these things though, that's tough...
Eve Valkyrie and Starblood Arena work with the flight stick too. They're pretty fun
@Cobra - except for some niche applications, the software standard is quickly becoming running your apps in the cloud/browser. On the consumer side the OS is becoming less and less relevant (Chromebooks and iPads are reigning supreme...both Unix based BTW). PC sales are declining and Windows is only holding it's own in the workplace for now. Windows is in a dangerous place strategically....
Photoshop doesn't run under Wine?
Open the article. There's an Xbox Game Pass ad with a buy button embedded in the page.
"to the best titles of 2018" tells you all you need to know here. Sure it's possible the author is a moron and not a shill.
Ok they claim in the article that while Sony has had support, they've been "standing still" because only a few games support MK. But it's available. They're not standing still, it's just that console gamers aren't clamoring for this so game developers don't build in support. Another step towards winning next gen lol
I think it has come down to what game developers want to support, and cross play, matchmaking, and input support still need to be developed for even if the platform holders provides good tools to help. When it comes down to it, are there enough people on consoles that want to use M&K and potentially play with others that don't to warrant the complexity? If it's a small population of users, the answer will probably be no in most cases...
Hasn't PlayStation had this for years (for games that choose to support them)? I had War Thunder controls mapped to keyboard controls sent by USB panels plugged into the PS4 years ago wuhtout a problem.
PC gamers have been forced to run Windows for too long. Really hope this improves Linux adoption so eventually developers start supporting non DirectX APIs out of the gate so we don't need translation layers...
PSNow is more than PS3 games. Hundreds of PS4 games as well.
I agree but I don't think their strategy is to help Steam succeed. Especially not when Steam has been trying to get the games to run under Linux.
When the next Gears and Halo come out, I'll be buying a few 1 month GamePass' for sure. I can see why they want to focus on multiplayer, so that people don't just run through the single player /co-op campaign via GamePass like what I'll do. I'm not complaining though, saving me big $$
@DaDrunken, if by handful you mean over 250, then yes. An additional 450 or so are streaming only for a total of over 700 games.
Sorry, they don't have the upper hand. They don't even have a product out yet and Sony does. Latest numbers have PSNow outpacing Game pass, and, reminder, PSNow allows you to download too - downloading is the easy part. BTW, as far as your "as soon as Sony closes PS4 store" comment, same goes for Xbox. Those download games are just rights to play those games, you don't own them. Your Xbox is constantly phoning home to make sure you're still subscribing to Gamepass. N...
I call it a "laser"
And with Steam you can enable the DS4 gyro for fine tuning aim which is an advantage over just thumbsticks. Xbox controller don't have gyros.
No steam controller fans? Touchpad + gyro > thumbsticks for competitive play against m/k, right?
You can can connect with Bluetooth even without an adapter, right? The later versions of the DS4 will also recognize the microphone input via Bluetooth which is nice
But in their defense, most of them are priced significantly less than a full game. Star blood was positioned to be the overwatch of VR. It played well too, but just not enough people to keep it going. I gotta think it's tough to invest in a huge game when the population is still pretty damn small. You really should experience FZH while you can though, the price is worth the experience even without a single player campaign...
