I'm with you 100%. That's the itch that Switch is scratching and that's the market to grow. But most public wifis (and 4g) aren't designed for what we'd need to stream games effectively. It'll be a while. For you, try the GPD Win 2...little PC with controllers, snych game saves via Steam/whatever.
This site is pro-gamer, the rest is just math. Anyway, I think the players are Apple and Google because they control the devices that people will be playing these games from. Streaming is a long term play that won't be super successful until mobile data and coverage is WAY better (6g?). Outside of that use case is the prospect of what? Displacing the console and PC with streaming sticks? And when someone fires up a Netflix show your game starts stuttering? We're going to need better W...
All development groups will be consolidated into one that focuses on Battle Royale ;-)
They created more multiplayer games IN VR ALONE than MS did across all of Xbox. And how can you say it's a big mistake with the position they have in the market (and getting stronger)? As a whole it looks like they focused on the right things.
Smart move to ensure PS4 is there for launch. I loved PlanetSide 2 but I'm not sure Daybreak has the manpower to pull this off based on what we saw in the past. I hope I'm wrong...
@derek, yeah, after you play the game compare the score you would give it compare to what the site gives it. If they align consistently you can use it to roughly predict how well you'll like the game, that's the idea. We use review scores differently than news imo.
So you haven't played it?
Have you played it? It releases tomorrow, right?
Surprised with the more simplified geometry they needed dynamic scaling instead of locked 4k on the X. DF is really gentle with their review though.
You kinda have to keep a list of sites on your blacklist/whitelist based on how close they are to your values. The games that are really good / really bad make it easier to spot the ..er... less reliable sites...
Smart to port this to Switch. BTW, they said they're working on a PS4 port as well...
Great to see Switch getting more of these kinds of games. Impressive
Very gracious in his comments about the competition. Nice to see respectful dialog.
It'll be worth it when a game like Gears or Halo comes out - those should come out on PC as well. Get it for a month or two then cancel.
Sounds like Layden was stipulating so e kind of change to e3 before going back. So it's not a do e deal
And how he referred to PS Now saying it "was a good experiment". I don't think they're shuttering it, just an interesting way to refer to it...
I think a lot of this is overhyped (as usual), but this could be useful for digital rights management imo
So glad they're still investing in VR. This is where the next gen excitement is for me. Pushing more pixels is great too, but it's not really transformational like VR is.
They are. @49miner you shouldn't generalize populations of people so quickly. Lots of different voices around here...
I agree. The second generation of PSVR will certainly have better tracking, better resolution, and less wires. And almost certainly will have backwards compability with existing PSVR library with built in upscaling to help existing games look a little better. They're in a strong position.
