It's a nice utility to have. Steamlink is a really cheap box that has been doing this for a long time for PC gamers. Based on the fact that it's being discontinued, I'd guess it hasn't been in really high demand. I use mine once in a while. but any PC with steam can already stream from any other PC with steam, and there are other ways to do this with a variety of devices so Xbox is just adding one more way to the list
That glitch is called technology
Epic got the cross-BUY they wanted, which helps disintermediate the marketplace. As long as the population is big enough they probably don't care about crossPLAY as much...
Or how MS fanned the cross-play fire to distract attention from their failures on other fronts?
To up FPS they'd have to lower resolution, effects, and draw distance. It'll still be a disadvantage, just for other reasons.
After all that fuss, reality sets in...
I agree, I think a traditional console wouldn't make sense for them. It should be something that leverages their already big install base of Android devices.
Yeah, I didn't expect it to come to Steam. Makes me think maybe they're not after dominating the windows marketplace after all...
Or a month of GamePass?
Don't you have to have the controller in range of the PS4 to do that?
@m2stech some Linux distros like Mint and Ubuntu are super stable and don't require any special skills to maintain. Put linux on a laptop that has Windows on it and you'll think you have a new laptop it'll be so much faster.
Never heard of it
Uninstall Windows? 😉
Sonys initial published strategy was to go to all devices like phones. They ended up scaling back instead of rolling out. Don't know if it was lack of perceived interest and/or network technology limitations that caused it. But they've done most of the heavy lifting already, they're more ready than anyone to capitalize on this if the market changes...
And doesn't get past the bootup logo. No news here yet.
Gotta hand it to them, though, they update that game like nobody's business. Wonder how big of a team they've got on Fortnite alone...
Might be an opportunity for a cash rich company to seed their fledgling store with a bunch of games and users. One company's misfortune is another's opportunity...
Acquisition target for MS / Epic?
Puzzles may not be your thing, but Witness is a work of art, critically acclaimed to back it up. 4k HDR is icing on the cake
The responses to Pitchford's tweet says it all. Epic exclusivity is going to hurt a PC game's sales.
