In console gaming that is! But fair play to Sony, are releasing at the right time to grab the Xmas Prezzie sales!

Only good things being said about it! Have to see exactly how good it is. Don't doubt they miss it though, sold gangbusters!

Asymmetric MP games can be quite interesting if done right. Of course there are ones that got it wrong (Evolve) so here's hoping MercuryStream get it right. Could be good!

Realisations are finally setting in then, for Microsoft. People have been decrying the PC, announcing it's death for so long. However, big publishers have seen the popularity and huge figures the PC shows. The sheer number of active accounts on Steam and the power that Valve hold from it.
It was only a matter of time that both the major console manufacturers noticed this and tried to keep up, Microsoft's gaming department, however, are aiming to take a piece of the PC pie. Ju...

I can agree with that. Competition does bring that need to improve yourself and develop. I can't think of another example off of the top of my head, but look at wrestling. Ever since the WWF/E took over it's competition, the product has got reasonable stale (though it does genuinely seem to be improving a little now) and just stuck in a rut.
It's hard to find the need to push yourself, to drive for excellence, when you have nobody to beat.

Yes, they find their way around security. Then as I specifically said in my comment, a good developer will maintain their game and then block this off. I've played tens of thousands of hours of games online and I know that less than 50 of those hours were impacted by cheaters.

So no, if you genuinely think that cheaters can't be stopped, and quickly, then you need to look into it and see how little cheating really does go on when a developer genuinely cares about th...

Utter rubbish. Yes, PC's do allow for more options in cheating but there's zero reason that should impact on cross play. Just put in a good security system and you'll be fine. The games that are well maintained and looked after properly don't suffer from a big problem with cheaters.

We'll get AAA games from em. They'll just be poor and aim for the lowest common denominator. Survive is a pure example of that. IP names will get tacked on ro anything just as a money grabbing exercise.

Shots are fired. This generation has been interesting, an actual return to the fighting between console manufacturers where they take direct shots at their opponents!

Byt as someone else has said, neither will be fantastic for proper high-end 4k

It's not a big surprise. Everything we've heard about the company over time. They're absolutely abysmal to employees and even their own IP's, just farming them out to anybody. They wont give credit where it's due and just can't handle any semblance of their employees getting credit while the board/company gets overlooked.

FucKonami news sections by Jim Sterling, and his videos directly covering them, say more than I ever could.

I genuinely just don't believe it. I'm not going to deny that it'll work as a good console, have decent graphics and games. But no console will ever replace the freedom a good gaming pc gives

The NX interests me if only for Zelda, but I just don't see how they're gonna get it out without delays. There's just nothing been said about it. It could be powered by unicorn dust for all I know!

I woudln't say this is a big surprise. Nither of the consoles will really prove to be revolutionary and that's simply because Sony and MS can't afford them to be. This isn't a new generation, it's just a graphical advancement on the current one. What this simply means is that people can still get the games on the older system, while those who want to buy the pro will have the better looking games.

It'd be silly for Sony and MS to split their users at...

It's not a big surprise. it'll be three years in a row and I imagine they'll continue. I don't really see it as a Bethesda event rather than a Zenimax one, though I suppose it makes sense since they use Bethesda as the publishing name.

It'll only grow due to the number of studios acting as subsidiaries to Zenimax now.

Maybe so, though even in co-op there is the incentive on being the best on the team. You are always competing, even if that competition isn't in directly killing another player.

My argument still holds valid, even if for that reason alone. But even not worrying about the online aspects, there are enough single player games that throw in micro-transactions and the game itself was made around that.

See, that's how it should be in a survival horror game. They needn't be impossible to beat - sound, well worked out tactical decisions to win - but otherwise they need to be tough enough that you feel the need to run and think of how to fight!

Looking forward to it! I'll hopefully get the chance to play it at EGX in a few weeks.

Sometimes I think they just set these things up for me. I genuinely think that. Though I'm a cynical git.

I mean really, if there's no tangible benefit, beyond a bit of time, to buy these cards then you genuinely think that people who are enjoying the game would buy them? No, not at all. All of these added microtransactions will undermine the game in one way or another. Either the game itself has been structured in a way to make the real money purchase look valuable...

Well, I backed it on KS so it's always good to hear more news on it. That and to actually see that it's progressing. My main hope is that expanding and looking at Neo/Scopio wont impact on the game in a negative way.

Haven't they learned that linear FF's aren't that popular? FFX got away with it because it was the first to do that, and it did have some great characters. As the series has progressed it's just digressed and got worse.
