I'm getting a little bored with the circle-jerking on Uncharted to be fair. Even the CEO of Gamespot is getting involved, and his only real concern is that sales are good. Not exactly a huge surprise though!
I've bought it finally anyway. I was underwhelmed with Uncharted 1-3, found them to be the game version of a hollywood blockbuster action flick, you simply need to turn your brain off and enjoy the shiny lights. Hopefully this does live up to what others have said.
I doubt it will completely dissapear, there's too much scope for it to end completely. There's no doubt in my mind it's shrunk, simply from looking at torrent sites, the seeds, peers and downloads. What's shrunk it is simply how much better it's got to be a PC gamer, the rise of Steam and other digital stores, prices have been reasonably low for a long time, it just helps. I think most people are simply willing to pay for a game, it supports the industry, so long as it isn...
I'll have to reserve my opinion for when I've played it. Visually it looks great from what I've seen, but so did the other Uncharted games. If the story plays out much the same, I'll just be dissapointed with it. I'll get round to it eventually!
But that simply can't work on a new IP. Order needed to have a good ending that left it open to a sequel, not anti-climatically with huge sequel bait, for a sequel that'll never happen now.
Advice that the AAA industry needs to think about. Ubisoft have been hit with it more than anybody over the past few years, as mentioned, with Watch_Dogs, Ass Creed Unity, Division and more. The advice applies to everybody and they need to learn it.
Hopefully be a good game. Order was just lacking in every aspect bar visuals, so hard to be worse. I'm still gonna stay cynical about Gamestop's involvement in publishing. If they do it right and not carve out content for themselves to gain a benefit in selling the copy then I'm all for it.
It's a good idea if it works right. There was a similar sort of penalty system in Live for Speed, if I remember correctly. The problem is, and there will always be a problem, in that the computer will struggle to detect causality. If i'm heading to pass somebody on the outside and they steal my line and I can't slow down enough to not hit them, I'd no doubt be penalised.
A shame, I'm looking forward to Kingdom Come. A delay like this was inevitable though, it's a huge project for the developers, small as they are. Delaying it to make sure it's good is better than what other Kickstarter projects have done, rushed to get out to meet a deadline.
Witcher 3 is looking as stunning as it ever has. I couldn't be happier that I've recently upgraded my rig and I'll be able to play it in all it's glory :D
Be interesting to see how it goes. Should it follow with the last two, no big influence by Deep Silver that alters the game in any way, then I couldn't be happier. I imagine they'll be okay with it though, Deep Silver don't seem to be one of those interfering publishers.
More games need a FOV slider, particularly so on consoles. On the future content, have to wait and see. I'm not overly enamoured with Blizzard at the moment.
Sadly I can't reply to Oschino directly due to the age of the story, but here's a way around it:
EA:Los Angeles work on the patches for all of the Online games, such as Battlefield, and when last I checked all of the patches were free. DLC is developed by DICE. Now I never mentioned the studio in the original post, but researching it would have indicated what I meant. Granted, I can't expect everybody to know this.
But yes, EA runs EA: Los Ang...
No game more complex than pong is flawless anyway. Anything with moving parts, particularly ones as large as Witcher, Elder Scrolls and so on, will always have some issues here and there. Some more than others!
Hopefully another good expansion to arguably the best RPG of modern times. Not too long to wait as well.
I'll remain skeptical. While I've always enjoyed BF, none of them have ever been as good as 'insiders' have said. None have ever hit the heights that BF2 managed to hit, more than likely a consequence of diverting much needed time into a single-player mode.
Not to mention that if Battlefront is anything to go by, my hopes are far from high.
Interesting and appealing. Cel-shaded options is brill as well! Maybe, just maybe, Uncharted will have finally hit that level that, to me, it's more than just a game version of your general hollywood action-blockbuster with a shallow story.
I'm all for giving any studio the chance to improve and fix a game. I do think, though, it's almost impossible to trust Ubisoft over the past number of years.
It's an understandable aim but I simply can't see Gears ever being a true E-Sports game. There's just not enough room for tactical finess like CS, and the regular shooting is taken up by such as CoD.
What they're doing with DLC I like, though it wont last. The MS overlords wont be fond over the lesser income!
In the real world timeline. The initial launch was a huge failure after long, costly delays. After the initial failure the game was fixed but was selling at a deep discount, practically selling for a third of the price brand new. It failed economically, simple as that.
Assassin's Creed Unity was downgraded though. Yes, it does look fantastic, but compared to what they were showing as footage, even saying it would be that for consoles, was complete rubbish to what it was when finally released. The advantage for me is that I'm a PC gamer, so I generally do get to see the games as they are shown at such as E3, but it doesn't change the fact that companies don't really give a true representation at the shows.
