Many players are wondering if XDefinat is free to play, with the release of the game getting closer. Positive reviews from the community followed closed and open Beta tests, with a recent Server Test session leaving players hungry for more. However, the free-to-play question remains and is a concern for all fans of FPS games. Especially if we take into account that other games like Call of Duty are paid experience. So stick with us and let’s find out if XDefiant is going to be free to play.

Is XDefiant going to be Free to Play?

Yes, XDefiant is going to be free to play across all the release platforms. Developers have officially confirmed that the game will be completely free from the launch. This means that no matter the platform you are using, you can enjoy XDefiant for free.

Free-to-play games are common nowadays, and XDefinat being one of them is no surprise. Moreover, free-to-play games always have free content that players can unlock by simply playing the game. Additionally, we can probably expect a reward track, similar to the one in The Finals. Nevertheless, although XDefiants will be free, there will most certainly be paid content in the game. This will most likely include store cosmetics like weapon skins, Premium Battle Passes, and other similar microtransactions.

What is XDefiant?

XDefiant, the latest game from Ubisoft, is a competitive team-based multiplayer arena shooter, similar to games like The Finals and Call of Duty. Set in the near future, the game is played in a 6v6 format across five different game modes. Players can pick and customize their Defiant from one of the factions pulled from the Ubisoft universe.

Factions like Phantoms from Ghost Recon and Echelon from Splinter Cell are currently some of the five factions in the game, with future factions in the works. Along with the choice of faction that will give players Defiant unique abilities, there is the customization of weapons and item loadout.
