XDefiant is planned for release soon, so if you are looking for all the release platforms, we’ve got you covered. Developed and published by Ubisoft, XDefiant is a first-person shooter set in a near-future alternative version of the United States. Players participate in team-based multiplayer matches in multiple game modes fighting over various maps inspired by previous Ubisoft games.

The game features multiple factions from across Ubisoft’s game catalogue, with different classes that all come with unique weapons and abilities. All characters are customizable with different abilities, traits, weapons, devices, and items. Currently included factions, that we know of, are Wolves from Ghost Recon, Outcasts and Cleaners from The Division, Echelon from Splinter Cell, and DedSec from Watch Dogs. There is also a faction from the Far Cry franchise in the works. But for now, let’s take a look at all the platforms that XDefiant is going to be launched on.

XDefiant All Release Platforms

XDefiant’s release is on the horizon and the game is scheduled for release on multiple platforms. During the open Beta, the game was playable only on current-gen consoles and PCs. However, this will change with the full release of the game.

XDefiant is going to be released on the PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. That means that console players will be able to play on the latest generation consoles. For the PC crowd, they will be able to play on their rigs, however, only through the Ubisoft Connect platform. That means that initially, XDefiant won’t be available on services such as Steam, Epic Games Launcher, or GOG.

Will XDefiant be released on the Nintendo Switch?

Although XDefiant is going to be released on consoles of previous generations, this is not the case for Nintendo Switch. This is sad news for all owners of Nintendo’s handheld console. At this time, there is no information on behalf of developers that there are plans to release XDefiant on Nintendo’s platform. This might change once the rumored new Nintendo console launches. However, for now, Switch players will have to look to a different system to play XDefiant.

Is XDefiant on Xbox One and PS4?

No, XDefiant is not available on Xbox One and PS4. Chances are that it will remain that way in the future. On that note, the devs stated: “We wanted to keep a consistent standard of quality for the game, so we made the decision to focus on current gen consoles.” So, PS4 and Xbox One users will have to find another way to enjoy Ubisoft’s latest shooter.
