XDefiant Release Date and Roadmap
After a few turbulent years of development and scheduled and postponed releases, the release date for XDefinant is finally here. As predicted, we got a concrete release date shortly after the last Server Test ended.
After well-received closed and open Beta tests that ended in June 2023, the fans were left eager to play the full game. At the time, it seemed that they did not have to wait long. The game was scheduled for release in September 2023. Sadly, this release was postponed indefinitely, but now, after a successful Server Test, the game has a fixed release date. Let’s take a look at the official release date for Ubisoft’s XDefiant.
XDefiant Release Date

After a highly successful Server Test Session, XDefiant finally got a release date. The game will launch in preseason on May 21, 2024, at 10 AM PT/1 PM ET. XDefinant will be playable on all the release platforms on the launch day. Additionally, the preseason will only last for six weeks, after which XDefiant will enter its first official season.
In preparation for the XDefiants release, developer Ubisoft announced the schedule for the upcoming trailer releases and more:
- On May 16th, we are getting a Launch Trailer for the game, along with the option to pre-download the game and readily await its release.
- On May 17th, there will be a pre-season debrief, that will give players details on all game news and updates.
- On May 20th, the Battle Pass trailer will be released, showing all the cosmetics that will be included.
- On May 21st, along with the release of XDefiant, we are getting official Tips and Tricks for the game. Moreover, the finals of the All-Star Series will be shown on this day.
With only a day away, the anticipation is high.
XDefiant Future Roadmap
According to the year 1 roadmap, every new season in the game will bring many new and exciting things. Every three months, XDefinant will get a new faction added, along with new weapons, maps, and battle passes. This means the game will have four new factions after the year ends, along with 12 new maps and weapons.

Developers announced the addition of new arena and progression modes, ranked modes, and private matches that will be coming during year one. Furthermore, player protection and comfort features will constantly be worked on to ensure that competition in the game is fair. Also, for the new players, safe practice zones will be added to help them get accustomed to the game before engaging with others.
