Stellar Blade is an adventure action game, where you play as Eve, a warrior tasked with reclaiming Earth from alien invaders. But, not everything in her adventures can be solved with fighting. Some quests require you to find a pond and simply fish. Quite unexpected in a post-apocalyptic action game, full of weapons and Nano Suits. So, let’s see how to do it. Check out this guide to learn how to catch fish in Stellar Blade.

Stellar Blade – How to Catch Fish

Oddly enough, catching fish in Stellar Blade is more complex than fighting. First, you have to finish the “Looking Glass” side quest to unlock the ability to fish. You can find the quest in the Great Desert. Look for an NPC named Clyde, in the central oasis.

Equip the Fishing Rod

Now, to start fishing, you have to equip the Fishing Rod. Hold Down your D-pad to access the combat consumables wheel and select the Fishing Rod (usually found on the left side of the wheel). Then, double-tap the same button to select some bait.

Cast Your Line

When you are near a body of water, flick your left stick back and forth to cast your line. Now you just have to wait for some fish to take the bait. When you feel a vibration on your controller, press R2 to hook the fish and start reeling it in. Once the fish is hooked, you have a limited amount of time to reel it in (usually between 45 and 60 seconds).

Reel In

A bar will appear on your screen, representing the fish’s “stamina”. You have to deplete the bar in order to catch the fish. When the fish bites, you first have to move the analog stick in the direction opposite from where the fish is swimming to. While doing so, repeatedly press the Square button to Overpower the fish. That depletes the fish’s stamina (the amount depending on the size of the fish).

Once the fish stops struggling, the option to Reel it in will appear (a blue/white circle with an arrow). You have to press the R2 button to move the arrow and keep it in the blue section of the circle. The longer the arrow remains in the blue section, the closer the fish will get to you. Repeat until the fish is close enough and then the option to Lift Up the fish (Triangle button) will appear. Press the prompted button and that’s it, the fish is yours.
