Aipom and Ambipom are just two of the many Sinnoh Pokémon that appear in the Kitakami region of the Teal Mask DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. While there are plenty of new monsters to add to your Pokédex, you’ll want to add these classic ‘mons to complete their entries. Not to mention, the dexterous Normal-type Ambipom can make a great partner on any team. Fortunately, you won’t have to go through too much trouble to obtain these Pokémon. Here’s how you can find Aipom and evolve it with a simple trick.

  • Only one code for a Hisuian Zoroark can be used in either the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. Upon purchase of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, an email with your code will be sent to the email address registered to your Nintendo Account. From the in-game menu, go to the Poké Portal, then select Mystery Gift, select Get with Code/Password, and then enter your code.
  • The Mystery Gift option can be found within the Poké Portal menu option in the X menu after you unlock the feature in the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game. Evolving Aipom into Ambipom is fairly straightforward, as you’ll just need to level up the mischievous little monkey after it’s learned the move Double Hit. This won’t be a problem, considering the Aipom you find roaming about Kitakami are seriously strong with an average level of 58 or so. At this point, most know the move, so you’ll just need to level it up once to evolve it.

When I caught my own Aipom in The Teal Mask, it was already equipped with Double Hit. However, you can easily teach the move to your Pokémon in the event that it doesn’t know it. Aipom naturally learns Double Hit at Level 32, so you’ll likely need to remind it how to use the move if your Pokémon is at a much higher level.

To do this, simply open Aipom’s summary and navigate to its moveset. Press A to select Change Moves, then hit Remember Moves. Double Hit will appear in the list of previously learned attacks. Select it and confirm.

If you haven’t caught an Aipom just yet, then you’ll first need to find one to evolve it. Luckily, these little guys can be found just about everywhere in the land of Kitakami, highlighted on the above map. I caught mine along Reveler’s Road on my way to the second signpost with Kieran. You’ll see loads hanging around here. However, you’ll also see plenty of Aipom in the Wistful Fields, where you battle the Titanic Munkidori.
