One of the various spices and ingredients players can use to create better foods in Once Human is Peppercorn. Although this spice can be randomly looted, some work must be done if players want a steady supply of it.

Peppercorn is a vital ingredient in many recipes, like Fish & Chips, Securement Soup, and Preserved Deviated Chops. While Fish & Chips can help players gain weight to increase their caring capacity and melee damage, Securement Soup will help with caching Deviants found around the world. On the other hand, if players are planning to go Acid farming, consuming Preserved Deviated Chops will increase the amount of Acid dropped by defeated enemies. In any case, having a reliable and steady supply of this spice will make the player’s life easier. So let’s find out what the best ways are to farm Peppercorn in the game.

Although this spice and its seed can be looted from Supply Crates around the Red Sands region, farming is the best solution. Ironically, the best way to farm Peppercorn in the game is to grow it yourself. Hopefully, you have found some seeds while roaming the Red Sands, but there is a way to purchase them.

At a Blackfell encampment in Red Sands, players can find an NPC trader called Lacey and purchase Peppercorn from her. Once per day, players can get a maximum of 3 Peppercorn for 50 Energy Links. Additionally, at Lacey’s shop, players can buy Peppercorn Seeds, with a maximum of 3 per week for 1000 Energy Links each.

Once players have the peppercorn seeds, they can build a Loamy Soil or Planter Box to plant it in. After a few hours of regular fertilization and watering, players can harvest this spice and hopefully get some seeds back. The good thing is that once harvested, this plant can provide some seeds, creating a literal farming loop. This is the best way to create a steady supply of peppercorns in the game. So when you need this spice, it’s already at your base, instead of having to go out and loot some.
