The Polyatomic Ion Particle in The First Descendant is one of the materials needed to craft an Energy Activator. This item provides one of the most powerful boosts players can get in the game and is essential in crafting the best builds. Once installed on an item Energy Activator will increase the maximum module capacity of the item significantly. This will allow players to greatly upgrade their weapon’s strengths along with their Descendant’s capabilities. However, to do all this you will have to acquire large amounts of Polyatomic Ion Particle.
How to get Polyatomic Ion Particle in The First Descendant
Polyatomic Ion Particle is dropped by Elite enemies (yellow mission monsters) found on missions in the Fortress region. Because of this, players can do any mission in this region and will get some amounts of this material. However, this is the last region in the game, so if you are playing solo make sure that you are greater level than the enemies.
Although all Elite enemies will drop some amounts of Polyatomic Ion Particle, this will not be enough. So if players are looking to craft some seriously powerful gear, some farming will be needed. Luckily there is a way to farm Polyatomic Ion Particle fast and efficiently in The First Descendant.
The Best Way to Farm Polyatomic Ion Particle in The First Descendant
The best way to farm the Polyatomic Ion Particle is to do the Command Relay mission on Hard difficulty in the Frozen Valley part of The Fortress. This mission will see players fight in a small area against waves of Vulgus, and Elites will spawn periodically. Moreover, you can do this mission quickly, and will reward you with 20+ Polyatomic Ion Particles in one run.
Additionally, this mission is located next to a Vuglus Strategic Outpost, which is great for farming. Once players have finished a Command Raley Mission run they can switch and clear the Outpost. This will allow you to create a loop of resource-gathering and will give you something to do while waiting for a mission restart.
