With the release date approaching for Manor Lords, many players wonder if the game has Multiplayer and Co-Op options. Developed by Slavic Magic, the game is a unique blend of a city-builder with strategic tactical battles. Although Multiplayer and Co-Op are not features that are common practices for city-building games, we can see how Manor Lords could benefit from them.
Manor Lords aims to blend city-building, social, and economic development with militaristic expansion in this 14th-century-inspired game. It offers players the experience of being a medieval lord, starting with only governing over a small village. Over time your village will expand and you will have to acquire new resources and lands for its growth. With all this, we can easily see how Multiplayer would be a great addition to the game.
Does Manor Lords have a Multiplayer and Co-Op?
Unfortunately, when Manor Lords releases the game will not have Multiplayer or Co-Op. Developer Slavic Magic has announced that the focus for Manor Lords is currently on the single-player experience. That means that we won’t be able to battle our friends or help each other develop prosperous cities. On the other hand, this might change in the future.

Will Multiplayer be added in the future?
Adding Multiplayer and Co-Op to Manor Lords does seem like a good choice. This could allow players to tackle the social, economic, and military aspects of the game together. On the other hand, fighting against human opponents over resources, land, and prestige can have its own merits.
Because Slavic Magic is a development team of one, focusing on polishing single-player first is a good idea. Moreover, in a Reddit AMA from 2020, the developer mentioned that tests were done on some multiplayer options. This gives us hope that we will eventually get Multiplayer and Co-Op in the game, but that might take a while. However, these will not be featured in Manor Lords when the game enters Early Access.
