Impa from the Legend of Zelda in Tears of the Kingdom

Link’s win over the forces of evil wasn’t a solo feat. Anyone who’s played the game know that our titular protagonist was assisted by many old friends from the past, both alive and dead, before he was finally able to vanquish Calamity Ganon. One of these important characters who were still alive by the time Link woke up was Impa of the Sheikah Tribe.

Here, we’ll be discussing Impa’s importance to the story and whether she’ll make a return in Zelda Tears of the Kingdom.

Will Impa return in Tears Of The Kingdom?

Impa’s return is not confirmed through Nintendo or any of the trailers. So, all we can do is speculate her inclusion based on her importance to the story.

When Link finally awakens from his one-hundred-year slumber, Impa is around 120 years old and meets with him. This makes Impa one of the oldest characters in Hyrule. While it is evident that members of the Sheikah tribe tend to have longer lifespans, we can’t say for how much longer she’s going to be around. As a result, there is a possibility that she might meet her demise in Tears of the Kingdom.

This could make for quite a heartwrenching moment in what seems to be a much darker and more somber game than the earlier Breath of the Wild.

Needless to say, this is just speculation, and it could be that Impa barely plays a role in the upcoming title with her inclusion being more decorative than anything. We can’t really say for sure until more information comes out.

Who is Impa in the Zelda universe?

Impa is a recurring character in the Legend of Zelda series who played an especially important role in Breath of the Wild. She’s an elderly woman serving as the advisor to the Princess of Hyrule, Zelda. Impa is known for her wisdom, knowledge of ancient Sheikah technology, and unwavering loyalty to the royal family.

Impa’s character has evolved throughout the Zelda series, but she has always been depicted as a wise and knowledgeable mentor figure to Link and Zelda. She has also been known for her skill in combat, and in some games, she has even joined Link on his adventures.

In Breath of the Wild, Impa resides in the village of Kakariko, where she serves as the village elder. Impa is instrumental in teaching Link about the Sheikah whose technology helps him tremendously throughout his journey. She also tasks Link with some of the main tasks in the game that eventually lead him to face off against Calamity Ganon in the story’s final act.
