A brand new Warbond has finally been announced. This article lists all new features and content coming in the Viper Commandos Warbond for Helldivers 2.
After a lot of speculation and a period of uncertainty, it seems that the devs have decided not to skip June’s Warbond. With the decline in the player base, we will see how will this new Warbond be received, and if this is what will keep the players engaged. So, without further ado, read on to see all the features and content in Viper Commandos Warbond for Helldivers 2.
Helldivers 2: Viper Commandos Warbond Features and Content
The theme of Viper Commandos Warbond is jungle warfare and close combat, obviously inspired by the original Predator movie from 1987. The devs claim that the equipment in this Warbond will be one of the best in the game.
The Viper Commandos is already structured differently. The number of new weapons is reduced, probably due to the player’s outcry against subpar new weapons and constant nerfs. We will only get one Primary Weapon and one Secondary. There are only two Armor sets, but we finally got a new Perk. The number of cosmetics and Boosters is similar to previous Warbonds, but this time we get a new Utility item and a new Player Title. Let’s get into more detail.
New Primary Weapons, Secondary and Grenades
- AR-23A Liberator Carbine – “A modified, shortened form – factor that handles differently from the true classic, with a bit higher recoil, but faster handling that feels perfect for spraying and praying up close.”
- SG-22 Bushwhacker Secondary – “Triple-barrel, sawed-off shotgun with two different firing modes, including one that fires all three barrels at once..”
As you can see, we will only get two new weapons and no Grenades this time. This is quite a change from the regular four Weapons and one Grenade pattern we had until now.
New Armor and Armor Perk
Finally, we got a new Armor Perk, in line with the theme and the look of the new Armor sets.
- PH-9 Predator – “Inspired by a veteran of the Viper Commandos who was said to have held off an entire Terminid brood with nothing but a machine gun, pocket knife, and Orbital Laser. The headpiece has a beret, and it looks devastatingly cool when combined with the Mark of the Crimson Fang cape. Passive boost – Peak Physique.”
- PH-202 Twigsnapper – “Your jungle heavy, which looks awesome with the Executioner’s Canopy cape. Passive boost – Peak Physique.”
- Peak Physique Armor Passive – +50% melee damage, +30% weapon ergonomics
Both of these armor sets have bare arms, to keep you sweat-free, and bulging biceps to further complement your 80s action-hero fantasies.
Patterns
A new and unique addition to Helldivers 2, Patterns are “skins” for your vehicles, namely Hellpods, Exosuits, and Pelican-1. This is a great way to break the monotony, especially if you do not like the color scheme of some of these vehicles.
- Viper Hellpods
- Viper Combat Walker
- Viper Shuttle
All of these have “the classic woodland and tiger stripe camouflage patterns”.
New Cosmetics and Victory Poses
We also get the usual batch of Helmets, Capes, Player Cards, Victory Poses, a new Player Title, and an Emote. The Emote is inspired by the famous Predator scene and a handshake between Dutch (Arnold Schwarzenegger) and Dillion (Carl Weathers).
- Capes – Mark of the Crimson Fang, Executioner’s Canopy.
- Helmets – PH-9 Predator, PH-202 Twigsnapper.
- Player Cards – Mark of the Crimson Fang, Executioner’s Canopy.
- Victory Poses – Welcome Adoration, Guns of Liberty.
- Emotes – Test of Conviction
- Player Title – Viper Commando
New Booster, Utility Item, and Super Credits
We get a new Booster, and some Super Credits, but this time, we are graced with a new type of utility items, never before seen in Helldivers 2.
- Booster – Experimental Infusion– “Gives your stims the added bonus of boosting your movement speed and reducing the damage you take for a short time.”
- Super Credits – Three instances of 100 SC will be available.
- K-2 Throwing Knife – “Imagine mowing down a crowd of Terminids and running out of ammo with only one bug remaining, no time to reload, so you dive backward and throw a hunting knife into its carapace right before it descends on you.”
How to Get Viper Commandos Warbond in Helldivers 2
The Viper Commandos just released on Thursday, June 11. It costs 1000 Super Credits to unlock, just like every other Premium Warbond.
