Helldivers 2 Players Either Love or Despise a Seemingly Forgotten Throwable

We are all creatures of habit, sometimes we use weapons and Throwables just because we’re used to them. Seeing a fellow soldier using an unknown Throwable can be quite confusing for inexperienced players. With the arsenal constantly expanding, are the Helldivers 2 players missing out when they don’t use this long-forgotten Throwable?

One Throwable Managed to Divide the Community

Recently, there has been a lot of discussion about the G-6 Frag Grenade. Some players use it daily, while others have never seen it before. Several Helldivers joked that they thought a new Throwable was added when they saw the G-6 Frag, as they weren’t aware of its existence.

Enjoyer_of_Fembois shared what confused them about this Throwable. They stated: ” I don’t get why you wouldn’t just use HE or Impacts. It has less damage and pen compared to both and its upsides don’t seem too great. A little bit more radius but the less damage and pen make it so that wouldn’t really be worth it”.

Genotabby added: “On paper, there is little benefit to using the G6 over the G12. G6 would have a slightly larger blast radius but a longer fuse time. Grenade count is still the same”. Another player, Sir_Daxus, agreed: “Yeah, they’re highly mediocre, just feel like HE but worse at killing stuff”.

Some Helldivers 2 Players Adore the G-6 Frag

Obviously, there are some Helldivers 2 players who are huge enthusiasts of this Throwable. They are aware that this Grenade is in no way perfect, but they still find that it has some specific purposes.

Agent7153 noted: “It’s the best grenade in my opinion. I don’t use my Grenades for enemies because they’re so limited. I use them to kill bug holes and bot fabricators. This Grenade is easier to get in the holes because it bounces off backboards and falls in the holes like a basketball”.

Other players offered their preferred uses, as well. Terrorscream shared: “The Frags are nice for buildings since they are way easier to aim, also good for throwing at feet vs bugs”. RV__2 added: “The increased blast radius makes it way better for trash clear, and honestly I never noticed the difference against anything armored”.

We find that these Grenades work for cleaning out the chaff, but, at least for us, they do little to help with fighting the bots and the bugs. Of course, as with anything else, diversity is the key to success. We suggest you try or give another opportunity to this Throwable, maybe even in the current Major Order in Helldivers 2.
