Being the second installment of the game, Helldivers 2 has some hefty lore. Most of the details have an interesting back-story which provides for a better immersion in the game. On the other hand, there are certain items that are just an integral part of the game, so much so that we don’t even give them a second thought. Fortunately, some players are more observant than others and they’re ready to ask the hard questions. Recently, one Helldivers 2 player caused a commotion when they brought up the topic of Stratagem Jammers.
Some Helldivers Worry Super Earth is Behind the Stratagem Jammers
Formal-Town dared to question Super Earth’s good intentions when they noticed an intriguing detail. This player mused: “While taking down a Stratagem Jamming Tower last night, a question occurred to me. Why does the Stratagem Jammer have a Super Earth terminal? If it was commandeered by the automatons, then what was Super Earth using it for before the war?”.
Honestly, these questions might intrigue even the most devoted Helldivers. Hopefully, these undemocratic musings won’t make you question your dedication to Super Earth. If they do, remember never to admit that to your Democracy Officer.
Many players were mostly confused by the “destroy the Stratagem Jammer” message. The OP asked the hard questions: “If the automatons built it and repurposed a terminal to run it, why would they include a program that after disabling tells you to “destroy the Stratagem Jammer”? For that matter, why include a terminal program to disable it at all since to my knowledge, the automatons don’t have Strategems to disable in the first place”.
Serpentax1 noted: “What’s interesting is that the first step tells you to log in to the terminal. So, my reasoning is that in order to block both the Stratagem beacons and the wrist-mounted terminal you enter Stratagem codes. They need to send out some kind of signal that blocks out communication to the Super Destroyer”.
This player explained that would mean that the Automatons use a terminal that is similar to Super Earth’s, which would allow them to interfere with the signal. That would also explain the “destroy the Stratagem Jammer”, as that message would be coming from the Super Destroyer.
Helldivers 2 Players Offer Democratic Explanations for a Treasonous Accusation
Of course, devoted Helldivers 2 players offered several acceptable explanations for the Stratagem Jammers. Serpentax1 reminded the community: “The Cyborgs from the First Galactic War, who went on to create the Automatons, were once Super Earth citizens who rebelled, this is why we are able to retool their PETA factory to make the Emancipator mech”.
That would mean that the Automatons and the Super Earth share the same technology basics, which would then lead to similar ideas and possibilities. Honestly, it makes sense that Helldivers would then be able to understand and manipulate the bots’ technology easily.
SpecialIcy5356 offered another explanation. They stated: “It likely has a terminal because the bots will scavenge our superior technology for their own machinery.. they won’t admit it of course, but all their tech is rehashed. Scrap crudely put together from our clean, democratic technology and turned into rusty, hateful garbage”.
This would be a more “democratic” answer, given the Super Earth’s supremacy, there’s no way those pesky Automatons could ever dream of technology like this. Obviously, if anyone asks you, this is the only correct answer. Now, go on and celebrate the completed Major Order by shooting the Commando at some Gunship Patrols. For Super Earth, of course.
