A Surprising Change to Decay Rates May Hinder the Current Helldivers 2 MO
While most players were busy admiring the recently announced update and its features, others were valiantly fighting the bugs for the Major Order. Only a few were still taking care of the bot front. Those players noticed something strange was happening, something that shouldn’t have happened. Helldivers 2 players reported a change in the decay rates on some of the planets on the Automaton front. The rates started rising. How could that happen with the bot Supply Lines cut? Now, a part of the community is even accusing Joel of cheating.
Helldivers 2 Players Are Shocked by Rising Decay Rates
One player, DarthPiggyus, warned their community. They said: “I don’t know if anybody noticed but the bot planets that had a 0% decay rate have gone up to a 0.25%. Looks like they’re rebuilding their defenses slowly but so long as we keep them cut off and focus our efforts we can hopefully wipe out a few planets before they get too strong a defense mounted”.
This player asked the community to come to their aid. They stated: “We’re going to need help in the Ymir sector after we defend Choepessa. I know Wasat is a nasty planet but the sooner we get it done the sooner we can go somewhere nice like Vega Bay”.
Indeed, the community would have to unite to establish dominance over those pesky bots. Unfortunately, we aren’t sure that will happen, as squashing one billion bugs per the current Major Order has turned out to be quite challenging. This puts the players in quite a dilemma.
Another player, SimpliG, explained: “It was inevitable. Two bot MOs back to back, it was clear that when a bug MO hits, everyone will swap over there, stalling and losing the progress made on the bot front. This is the ‘beauty’ of a two-front war. You focus on one side, you are crushed on the other. You balance both sides, you get stalled”.

Some Helldivers Are Mad at Joel for Making This Change
Other players weren’t as coldheaded. ZeroBANG exclaimed: “…stop cheating Joel! The Automatons did not reconnect their Supply Lines, where is this coming from?! This is soul-crushing to see, it tells me under normal circumstances with a 2% regen rate there is no point whatsoever in playing on anything but the one or two MO planets”.
Beliebigername added: “Joel needs to learn that there are no more 250k Helldivers available. It’s like a 60k peak with 80% playing Bugs as soon as possible. The biggest complaint for me is playing the same 5 planets over and over again”.
Many players pointed out how the system was flawed. It’s impossible to make any progress on a single front when the Major Orders keep switching from one front to the other. Recently, two consecutive MOs were on the bot front, and the number of players dropped significantly. Maybe the system is in need of a change. Some have suggested the new/old enemy might do the trick.
Of course, we’re sure Joel will have some explanation for this change to the decay rates in Helldivers 2. It’ll be fun to hear what he comes up with. In the meantime, we’d suggest you choose wisely which front you’ll fight on. Both sides need you. Bring your trusty Commando and get to work. For Super Earth!
