The rumors circle that flying bugs have been seen. Are Flying Bugs Terminids coming to Helldivers 2? Let’s look into it.
Helldivers 2 is constantly updated. Be it a new patch or hotfix, a constant stream of updates keeps things fresh and fixes any issues that come up. In the recent 1.000.102 Patch, the issue concerning the durability and spawn rates of Chargers and Bile Titans has been addressed, and now they’ll appear in fewer numbers. The devs said that it is compensated by increasing the number of smaller bugs, and everyone took that at face value. But, they didn’t specify which smaller bugs are we talking about. Ever since that patch has gone live, reports of flying Terminids started circling the community. Does that mean that flying bugs Terminids are coming to Helldivers 2?
Is Helldivers 2 Getting New Flying Terminids
Even though some players claim to have encountered them, the developers deny the existence of any flying Terminids. Johan Pilestedt, the lead dev, stated: “I’ve heard rumors of flying bugs in Helldivers 2. I want to officially refute such preposterous claims. Everyone knows that “Bugs can’t fly”.
When the fans pointed out that there are flying Terminids on the game’s loading screen, that was dismissed as “image manipulation by traitors”. But, the situation from the front says otherwise.

Flying Terminids Leaks
More and more players post pictures and videos showing flying Terminids. Unless this is all just propaganda, flying Terminids have been added to Helldivers 2.
Leaks show a smaller bug with wings, flying and trying to rip Helldivers to shreds. These new bugs seem to be named Shriekers, as they produce a high-pitched screech before dive-bombing Helldivers. They work in the same way as Stalkers, ie, they spawn from a lair that you have to find and destroy, as a Secondary Objective on some missions. Thankfully, these lairs are easy to find: they resemble huge glowing mushrooms that you can see from afar and can be destroyed by explosives or orbitals.
Word has it that this is just the beginning and that we will see massive flying bugs in the future. For more Helldivers 2 articles, take a look at What Are Meteor Showers and Fire Tornados, Best Ship Modules Tier List, and When Is The Illuminate Coming to Helldivers 2.
