There are a lot of NPC in Hades 2 that Melinoe can interact with. Apart from all the fighting, improving your relations with other characters can be beneficial. It can even lead to some romance. But, for starters, each NPC that you become friends with will give you a personal item, called Keepsake. In this article, we will explain what Keepsakes are and how to get them, and list all of the Keepsakes currently available in Hades 2.
Hades 2: What Are Keepsakes
Keepsakes are unique items that you can get from each NPC. They offer passive bonuses that you can upgrade during your adventures. Those bonuses are varied and go from restoring Health between locations to improving your damage once certain conditions are met.
Each NPC will give you its own unique Keepsake as a token of friendship, and there are 27 Keepsakes in Hades 2 so far. More may be added as the game is developed further. You can equip the Keepsakes that you have got so far by selecting the Cabinet in the Crossroads, before going on a run.
How to Get Keepsakes
Thankfully, getting Keepsakes is quite simple. You just have to Gift some Nectar to an NPC and you will get a Keepsake in return. Note that each NPC can only give you one Keepsake, ie, you have to give Nectar to an NPC whose Keepsake you do not already own.
Giving more Nectar to an NPC who already gave you their Keepsake will improve your relations, but will not give you more Keepsakes.

How to Upgrade Keepsakes
Upgrading your Keepsakes is also very simple. The more encounters you survive while wearing the Keepsake, the more powerful it gets. It takes around 25 encounters to upgrade a Keepsake from Level 1 to Level 2, and about 50 more encounters to upgrade it to Level 3.
Note that you can only have one Keepsake equipped. An Incantation called Kindred Keepsakes grants you the ability to switch Keepsakes after boss fights. Useful if you have just upgraded a Keepsake to Level 3 and want to work on a different one.
