Larian Studios made sure actions have consequences in their top-rated game Baldur’s Gate 3. That is why some characters are quite tricky to recruit, where even the slightest mistake can ruin your efforts. Jaheira was a party member since the first Baldur’s Gate game. No wonder longtime fans want her in their party for the third time. But, it is more tricky than usual.
How to Recruit Jaheira in Baldur’s Gate 3
You’ll first encounter Jaheira the Druid in Act 2 when you reach The Last Light Inn. The leader of the Harpers is a Half-elf Druid of the Land/Fighter multiclass, with the Soldier Background. The first thing you should do is gain her trust. Avoid lying to her or anything similarly deceptive. Then, when she offers you some suspicious wine to drink, do so without question. Now that you have officially met her, there are a lot of things do to before you can recruit her.
The Last Light Inn
First, during the assault on The Last Light Inn, you should protect Isobel. If she is taken, the Harpers defending the Inn will turn into zombie-like creatures and you will have to fight them, possibly losing Jaheira in the process. She will stay to protect the Inn while you go to find a way to defeat Ketheric Thorm.
Nightsong
Afterwards, while running the Gauntlet of Shar, you will encounter Nightsong. Do anything you can to keep her alive and free her. That means you must prevent Shadowheart from killing her. If Nightsong dies, the protective barrier around The Last Light Inn will fall, and Jaheira, Isobel, and everyone there will die.
Moonrise Towers
Provided you have succeeded in all of this, you will meet Jaheira again, before assaulting the Moonrise Towers. There you will have the option of taking her with you or letting her lead the assault with her Harpers. It is better to take her with you since she will then be a temporary Companion that you can control and keep safe. After the assault, before chasing Thorm into the pits, you will have the dialogue option “Face Ketheric with me” to fully recruit Jaheira into your party.
