Wow, the looks amazing compared to the original. The explosion and lighting look leagues better and the models are also much much much less plasticy looking. Also less blur (60fps)(to see difference, pause at points and the blur is significantly decreased).

miyamoto3174d ago

They are both great for me. That is why I must own both version,
I have all three in my PS3. Now I am gonna get the other 3 on PS4 to complete my collection.

This is the game franchise that made me believe in video games again after years of hiatus.

@ the nay sayers down below
You guys just don't understand how the greatest game developer in history rolls, don't cha?
Well well well continue to be disappointed all your life if you want. Me and my mates we are gonna enjoy Uncharted 1, 2 3, 4 and Golden Abyss maps in Uncharted 4 MP. That is guaranteed. Complete with hundreds of past DLC skins.
LOL!

bouzebbal3174d ago

if there is an uncharted i wanna play it's definitely this one.
Such great memories and i actually forgot most of the game.

TwoForce3174d ago

That's look way better than the original Uncharted Ps3 version. I'm glad Bluepoint games upgraded the original.

Kiwi663174d ago

Well you would hope it looks better than the ps3 version otherwise there will be a lot of angry gamers

Rookie_Monster3174d ago

Besides the obvious higher resolution of the PS4 version and cleaner textures, everything else looks pretty much the same. Not a bad thing since those PS3 games already reached pinnacle graphics level on PS3 just like TLOU was.

Rimeskeem3174d ago

I must strongly disagree. Pause the video during the explosion. The lighting looks sooo much better and drakes face looks way more life like than before.

NeverHeavyMan3174d ago (Edited 3174d ago )

It's a Remaster. Everything SHOULD look "pretty much the same" (asset-wise). However, some people really don't understand how much a resolution (and frame-rate) increase make. That, alone, creates a far nicer image and IQ. These games all look lovely remastered and the 9th of October couldn't come sooner!

For the rest of us actually interested in this Collection, should be fun to go through these again!

KingKionic 3174d ago

The textures as in art assets have not been touched too much. There not completely redone.

http://www.gamersyde.com/hq...

Here`s a better quality video showing the collection.

The 1080p and 60 fps does indeed add a nice smooth look to the games.

Its disappointing there`s no multiplayer/coop in uncharted 2 and 3 though.

Concertoine3174d ago

I wouldve payed more and waited longer for the glorious return of Uncharted 2 multiplayer. Now i can only hope 4's is similar...

Jayszen3174d ago

This remaster is turning out to be one of the best to date. With the additional difficulty and different modes added specially for this remaster and the the Uncharted 4 Multiplayer Beta on top, this release will be bought by those many of us who already have the PS3 originals. If you have never played the Uncharted series, I envy you coming to it fresh as they are some of the best games ever made.

Immorals3174d ago

But it's not anywhere near the best to date. Not when there's remasters coming out that make an old game look current gen. Not when they removed features.

This is the remaster I'm buying a PS4 for, but to call it one of the best to date is stupid.

Jayszen3174d ago

We will have to differ in our opinions. I think the graphics upgrades are good and the only feature they have removed is the multiplayer but we are getting the UC4 Beta Multiplayer and the extra modes. Yes, we would all like more rather than less but as it is, the three games are definitely worth the purchase. I consider the remaster on of the best to date because in my opinion that is what it is, when compared with some of the other remasters, such as God of War 3, and Halo MCC. I am sure far better remaster will arrive in the future but that is why I said "to date".

trywizardo3174d ago

differences I've noticed : characters hair , texture quality , faces are redone (like tomb raider on PS4 and X1) , extra small details like blood marks on cloths and face , better lighting and shadows , better explosions and smoke , redone water and trees

showtimefolks3174d ago

that's a lot of improvements. also if I am not wrong ND said they would make gameplay tweaks too.

I think this is a must have collection for those who haven't played the series yet. that doesn't mean you can't buy it again if you have already played it on ps3.

I want to play all 3 games at 1080l 60fps

trywizardo3174d ago

this is why I bought PS4 , I was into X1 more than PS4 , but I messed out a lot of good games in PS3 that I didn't even try , so this and TLOU remaster and GOW3 is really good
I hope they will remaster Infamous 1 and 2 next :D

RevXM3174d ago (Edited 3174d ago )

Yep seem so, and they are using higher poly models too.
Notice the shoulder of the dead captain in the submarine, not so angular looking anymore, also have a good look on Sully's plane more polys here too.

Crisp and clean. Bluepoint were probably given the original models and textures and scaled them rather than keeping the ones already scaled for Ps3. Hence why everything looks so much cleaner, smoother and crisper.

Seems like a proper remaster, even without an MP we get 3 remastered singleplayer games that seem to have a lot of work behind them for the price of one game. It is must buy if you have a ps4 and didn't get to play these games last gen imo.

trywizardo3173d ago

exactly everything looks way better than before and with added effects the game looks great
this is great deal for me because I'm into singleplayer more than MP , and this is 3 great SP games in one :D
but what about UC2 and 3 , are they remodeling the characters and add more effects (tho 3 graphics is really good they don't have to do anything)?

The Inconsistent Harmony: 5 Examples of Ludonarrative Dissonance in Video Games

VGChartz's Issa Maki: "I finally have a proper designation akin to what I've always referred to internally as 'the line that must be crossed' or 'The Line', for short – ludonarrative dissonance – the separation from a video game's story in relation to its gameplay. Why isn't PETA all up in Mario's grill for jumping on turtles and killing fish, or charging Samus Aran with the extinction of the Metroid species? Ever notice how fire has that habit of making bosses in Resident Evil stronger? Read on my friend, for I endeavor to imbue you with the ability to engage in basic queries concerning the concept."

UC 2, 4, 3 and 1. Great read and article

ABizzel11004d ago

No Golden Abyss -_-, otherwise I agree with the order.

UC2: Best overall
UC4: Best graphics, best gameplay, best locations, best environements
UC3: Best set pieces IMO (the boat and desert fights will always be amazing)
UC1: A rough Draft of what was to come
UCGA: Basically UC1 on Vita

Levii_921004d ago (Edited 1004d ago )

Great list and great article nicely writen and explained. Although for me personaly i would put Drakes Fortune above Drake’s Deception and Uncharted 4 is absolutely my favourite of the franchise and number 1 for me.

Inverno1004d ago

U2 is the only game playable on crushing without causing a great amount of frustration. Not to mention just how much influence it had that they redid some of U2s set pieces like the caravan twice, and armored truck chase in U4.

DFresh1004d ago (Edited 1004d ago )

I'd rate it as the following.

1.) Uncharted 2
(Close to perfection of any game I've played in years. Single Player/Multiplayer/Co Op all amazing.)

2.) Uncharted 3
(On par with UC2 multiplayer/co op wise minus the kickbacks [aka killstreaks]. I really liked the Lawrence of Arabia story.)

3.) Uncharted 4
(Single player is amazing. Multiplayer was meh. Co Op had potential. Absolutely hated the health revive system it slowed down the game way too much. Always preferred the fast pace action of UC2/UC3. Made it way more fun that way. Recoil was too ridiculous that most people in lobbies would only do hip firing, using power weapons and using that OP grappling hook to melee people after dropping them. Nobody wanted to revive anyone.)

4.) Uncharted
(It's the first in the series so it's hard to judge. Though I loved the story.)

NecrumOddBoy1004d ago

I agree here but it’s also a series you can play from front to back and truly enjoy. Story-wise, they are all great and flow so well. I wish they threw both Golden Abyss and Lost Legacy on this list. Lost Legacy is the best mechanically in my opinion. You can see it’s stepping stone framework for TLOUS2.

Michiel19891004d ago

uncharted 2 is one of the few games that actually surpassed its pre-release hype.

medman1004d ago (Edited 1004d ago )

I am a single player gamer...I barely ever touch a multiplayer component. The only exceptions over the years have been the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, TLOU factions, and the Uncharted 2 multiplayer. The Uncharted 2 multiplayer saw me spend more time playing it than all my other multiplayer experiences over the years combined. That game really was a masterpiece all around.

brando0081003d ago

I agree completely, those are all stellar MP experiences, coming from another SP gamer who only occasionally gives MP some time.

Gardenia1004d ago

Come to think of it, the step between Uncharted 1 and Uncharted 2 is huge. It goes from the weakest in the series to one of the best games ever made.
I think I'm going to play all of them again soon.

Ninver1004d ago

Yeah all of a sudden I've got that Uncharted itch.

Michiel19891004d ago

is multiplayer still up for the remastered trilogy? or did it never have UC2 mp?

Ninver1003d ago

@michiel1989

Not sure
