The PS Vita is a failed console, mobile gaming has killed any chance it ever had of success, it's not entirely Sony's fault although they could've tried a bit harder to get some big titles on it like a GTA game, but what's the point at this stage.
Even Sony admits the hardware and software sales were underwhelming and it's no longer profitable to develop first party games for, and it's been completely abandoned by third party studios, if that not failure then what is?
I don't think the Vita is a failed console I just think Sony abandoned ship way to early the system itself is amazing. If Sony would do what Nintendo is doing with 3DS and bring amazing first party content like God of War, Last of Us, more Uncharted, infamous and Sly Cooper games add in a special third party like Metal Gear, TombRaider and Bioschock for example the Vita would be a beast. Right now Indies as good as they are they are not enough for me in my opinion. I sold it for those reasons two years ago.
The system's biggest and best games are going to PS4, and big first-party (even third-party) games are looking sparse.
However, for the amount of cross-buy indie games like Hotline Miami 2 and Titan Souls, for the amazing free content PS+ provides, and for the features like remote play, then absolutely. That is just me though. I love being able to transfer my saves from PS4 to Vita and continue playing addicting games on the go. The Vita was ALWAYS going to be a companion to my PS4. That won't be enough for most people, and I know people buy their consoles for different reasons.
