When you compare the GCN with the beast that was the PS2, you can clearly see that Nintendo could have done better. Sure it had a couple of great titles, but I only owned 7 games that I was interested in, while I gathered around 50 games for PS2.
GCN seriously lacked third party support.
Just because Nintendo was great in the 90's and saved the video game industry in the 80's, does not mean that you should look the other way when they make stupid decisions.
No, but they better get their shit together. This is not the 90's anymore where you can create an add-on and hope it does great. Hell, back then it still was a stupid idea. Both Sega and Nintendo loved to do this kind of bullshit. Same thing happened with the extra RAM for the N64 and motion+ as well. Release the damn product when you believe it's 100% done. Nintendo stated that they didn't need a second analog stick but look a them now. They are going to release this monstruosity...
thanks bro
Oh Nintendo...
"Uncharted's story is too hollywood for my liking."
Kinda funny that you mention that, because Cliff admitted that they made Gear's into a story that can easily transfer into the big screen. Pretty much shows how predictable and movie like Gears is.
1. Uncharted
2. Bioshock
2. Mass Effect
3. Assassins Creed
4. Gears of War
5. Dead Space
6. Batman Arkham Series
7. Souls series (Demons and Dark)
I would love to add 8. Darksiders, 9. Prey, and 10. The Darkness, but their sequels will be released next year and who knows how those games will turn out (though I have faith in the devs)
I would also LOVE to add Lost Odyssey in that list, but unfortunately ...

You lost me taking you serious when you said Gears of War. Sure it's not a bad franchise, and I own both games and will buy the third game, but it is nowhere near as good as Uncharted. Portal is amazing but it's not from this gen buddy and although Alan Wake was interesting, it's just a grain of sand in comparison to Uncharted.
You should know better than this. Is this the denial Nintendo fans and owners are in? I have a 3DS and it's pretty OBVIOUS that Nintendo will start requiring it on all their first party titles, possibly next year, when they launch a redesign that includes the second analog stick.
*sigh* so was I...and I payed $250....
Let's see how Nintendo fanboys defend this piece of shit add-on. FUCKING NINTENDO!!! Selling my 3DS tomorrow.

If this extra slide pad is true, I'm selling the 3DS, and will not support Nintendo in any way. I didn't pay $250 for an unfinished product. Why? just why Nintendo? stupidest idea ever. We all knew that some PSP games didn't play that well because of the lack of a second analog stick, but at least sony had the balls to stick with it and not fragment your users.
We'll see. Like I said in my above post, I would have preferred a 3DS version, since I can actually see who's online and what my friends are playing from the main menu. Having that would mean that I would feel the need to jump in the game if my friends would be currently playing.
Obviously I'm being sarcastic; I just find it funny that they decided to make an online only game on the Wii. PS3 would have been the more obvious choice (I would also add 360 but since that's not very hot in Japan...). Heck, even the vita would be a better console to release it on.
EDIT: I would even go as far as to say that the 3DS would be a better console to release it on, since you actually have a friends list on the 3DS, which is a big thing IMO.
I don't consider Wii's online structure to be real online gaming, it just doesn't compare to PC/360/PS3 online gaming. 3DS has gone to a better direction with a single FC for all titles, and hopefully Nintendo will go even further and make Wii U's online even better. Even the PSP has a better online system.
Wii has online?

This...I need it now. Now this handheld was well thought out, hardware wise. Hopefully they do great software wise (so far so good though)
