You say microsoft is doing well for their second ever console. Now tell me, how many consoles did sony make before the wildly successful playstation? And the PS2 has been the most successful console ever, with 7 years and 120 million users under it's belt. It has shown tremendous innovation, flexibility and reliability. As a testament, it is still the dominant platform well over a year into this new generation of videogames. In comparison, both xboxes have been complete failures.
Yes, microsoft have the money survive losing tons of money with the 360. But why would they keep making games consoles if they keep losing money on them?! They didn't decide to make a console for fun!
If they do indeed lose this 'console war' as most of the analysts are predicting, I don't see much reason for them to make another xbox, aside from the fact that they have probably already invested plenty of money into r&d for one.

Well it's very lovely that they want to make the game perfect before they release it but if they leave it till 2008 no one will buy it. It will be completely buried by the big hitters.

The whole forecast is bull. He's definitely overestimated sales for the systems, and hasn't taken into account the possible imminent PS3 price drop (thought that may be on account of unfortunate timing), and seems to completely overlook such "compelling content" as ratchet, haze, unreal tournament and uncharted. Very unconvincing for me.
Well what other project would sony fund entirely? Trust me, a new FFVII is coming. Give it time.

I heartily disagree. The wifi is not very necessary at all. I usually have mine plugged in because it's just a faster connection.
Sony did claim at first that you'd be able to upgrade a 20GB to have the features of a 60GB (wifi and card readers). I have yet to hear confirmation of this, but if they do have a wifi addon, then it would make sense to ship the 40GB without wifi for a cheaper price. Depending on opinion, no FPS at all looks this good. If Crysis comes to the PS3, it'll be interesting to see if people prefer that or this.
That was exactly what Criterion claimed when developing black. Now that was a f*cking kickarse game. It was shot down for being too short and having no multiplayer, but it still remains one of the very best fps experiences I've ever had.
