To put it into perspective, it wasn't able to beat the DS simply because the DS was the best selling Nintendo console ever made, handheld or otherwise. It sold around 155 or 160 million total, which is amazing and only bested by the PS2's sales.
DS aside, the other Nintendo handhelds sold between 80 million (Gameboy Advance, 3DS) and 100 million (original Gameboy). So for Sony to be able to match those numbers with their first handheld console ever speaks volumes. D...
Nah, the truth of it is Nintendo isn't rushing to release a Mario Kart 9 because 8 Deluxe is selling so well (30 million + and counting), so why even bother?
This is the truth and you know it. It wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if they never release a new proper Mario Kart game for the Switch and just save it for the Switch Pro or whatever.
The question is if it's redundant. So you mean to say it isn't... lol
30? Majority of Switch games run at 60.
Trust me, Sony and Microsoft view the Switch as competition. It does not matter what you personally think about it, it's still a gaming device that is fighting for the consumer's money in the same space that Sony and Microsoft are selling their consoles. That is the very definition of competition.
New Super Mario Bros U is the third entry in that series.... doesn't matter it isn't called NSMB3.
Not even close. We don't even know the name of the game, we've only seen one cinematic trailer and that's all.
New Super Mario Bros - DS
New Super Mario Bros 2 - 3DS
New Super Mario Bros U / New Super Luigi U - Wii U
So, nope.
To be fair, Nintendo does this all the time. Announce games with only a few months ahead of release I mean.
Bro, it's been almost 4 years since BOTW released. Move on.
I'm all for developers showing stuff when they are ready to show it... but come on, that should extend to game announcements, too. Bayonetta 3 was announced 3 freaking years ago, and they shouldn't have done it if it wasn't anywhere close to being in a showable state...
Nah, Paladins is also very consumer friendly and F2P. Every purchasable item on that game is strictly cosmetic, and there's a lot of stuff you can purchase directly and knowing exactly what you will get, not everything is random loot boxes. And the loot boxes never give you repeat items...
The devs already got paid because they work under a salary. All that profit goes to the executive side, not the devs. At most you can expect the creative leads in the dev team to get some kind of bonus, maybe, but everyone else... nope.
The Switch is turning 4 years old next March...
Not true. I'm a big fan of Paladins, a free to play game, which I've been playing for 2 and a half years. Everything purchasable in-game is strictly cosmetic, no pay-to-win or any other bullshit there.
And years ago, there was a mobile game on Android called Beach Buggy Blitz, another free to play game. That one actually let me unlock EVERYTHING the game had through normal gameplay, which I did after about 30 hours of playing it, give or take. In the end I was actua...
Wii U says otherwise.
Yes, it is. It's a video game device, competing with Sony and Microsoft for the consumer's money in the same market. It's the very definition of direct competition, business-wise.
It's not a matter of fact that we will see those titles next year because none of them have a release date. Not even Bayonetta 3, which was announced almost 3 years ago.
Switch is 3 years and 7 months old already. Hardly a "hot new thing".
And it's still selling great.
You still haven't seen anything. The game will rock your socks off once you get past Tephra Cave. You have no idea lol.
