Homefront Screenshot Comparison [720p/HDMI] (GameBlurb)

agreed...PS3 seemed to have better lighting and in places better textures but the 360 was not as jaggie as the PS3 version appears to be.

At the end of the day, both versions will look just run of the mill. This game desperately needed a better version of Unreal and/or just a new better engine. Well that and a better direction for the scripted moments which on a whole all feel forced and break the immersion almost every time... Do I really need to wait for my two companions to crawl through this whole, or go up a ladder?

Hmm, the biggest difference appears to be in the lighting. Textures are the same, but the 360 seems to have a stronger AO effect.

Is there a reason why lens of truth, gameblurb, and a few other websites never have the contrast and PS3 settings correct?

They also overly contrast the 360 version almost all the time, it is like they dont know what they are doing.

Digital foundry is the most accurate out of all of them I have seen.

I do recall reading somewhere on one of those sites that they use component cables for both systems. The PS3 needs the HDMI in order to appreciate its true visuals. I cannot use component cables anymore since the difference is huge. I am not sure about the difference for the 360 as I don't have one.

I have the component and HDMi for my 360. There is a difference.

When playing a game in hdmi the contrast looks a bit better and it looks sharper. Since I use digital headphones I use the component cables.

Maybe the 360 has better resolution when using component compared to when the PS3. I see a big leap in visuals for the PS3. They should really use HDMI for both.

Its not surprising anyway Xbox 360 was the lead console for this game..

I assume that the story line is going to trump gameplay in this game. Which is not such a bad thing. Better than the 4 hour long campaign on CoD

And that is not a slam on the game, just honesty as I am playing and enjoying the game.

Just like most of these "stare and compare articles the 360 version has a tad bit more detail but is darker and the PS3 version is brighter and is a tad bit more colorful but the object edges are a bit more jaggie.

For the most part (for the last few years now) Devs have figured out the PS3 and most of the multi-plat games look about the same.

Yes there are exceptions here and there but lets be honest and realistic here, some look a little better on the 360, some look a little better on the PS3.

Folks are going to buy whichever version they want, do these articles really sway that many people into

A. running out and buying a new system because game "X" looks a tad better on said system?

B. Swaying those multi-plat owners (Me) into one version or the other?
For me I'm swayed by content, if they look the same but the 360 version has a character I like better then I'm getting the 360 version.
If the PS3 has more levels then I'm getting the PS3 version, plan and simple.
