You must be joking........even Sepiroth is not as evil as Kotick..I said "evil" not bad ass as Sepiroth cause frankly I think Kotick couldn't beat up an old lady if he tried.

Seriously we had almost the EXACT same 5-whatever-list-topic one or two weeks ago as news already.

I didn't read the article, but without reading I'll say they will say: Shadoloo, Shinra, umbrella, team rocket, organization XIII. Well I'm going to read it now.
EDIT: Got two right....Man Tekken is my favorite fighter, how did I not think of them? C'mon though, no shadoloo? BS!

Loved Alpha Protocol in all it's glorious jank. Great game.

SimpleSlave20d ago (Edited 20d ago )

Not only glorious jank, but the idea that the story can completely change depending on what you do, or say, or side with, makes it one of the most forward thinking games ever. The amount of story permutation is the equivalent of a Hitman level but in Story Form. And it wasn't just that the story changed, no, it was that you met completely new characters, or missed them, depending on your choices. Made Mass Effect feel static in comparison.

Alpha Protocol was absolutely glorious, indeed. And it was, and still is, more Next Gen than most anything out there these days. In this regard at least.

Pity.

The prevalence of parrying: Why is it so popular?

i understand the authors frustration i'm not the best at parrying in games. not that i can't complete a game that requires it but it is a definite harder thing for me than other kinds of techniques in games. which might be the main reason it's so heavily added in games nowadays. want to make your game challenging without having to do a lot of work? just add a parry boss. (what i mean by parry boss is a boss you have to beat by parrying such that their attacks will kill you otherwise)

I always think it's fine as long as such games also have the roll/dodge panic button. But I understand the will to parry, it seems so cinematic in a fight when you pull it off.
