Here is the most beautiful game in the world

Members of Pelaajalehti.com voted for the most beautiful game of all time. The voters didn't count polygons used or compare other technical aspects of graphics. Instead, the most eye-pleasing game was chosen as the winner.

For a list of the ten most beautiful games according to the vote, check the source.

How the hell did
5. Halo 3 (Xbox 360)
6. Metroid Prime (GC)
8. Fallout 3 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
9. Team Fortress 2 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC)
10. Mega Man 9 (Wii, the PS3, Xbox 360)

make that list?

Tacki5704d ago

Well, there's certainly some games on there you wouldn't expect. Team Fortress 2 I think surprises me the most actually.

I'm glad to see Shadow of the Colossus and Ico up there though. Those are probably the two most stunning games I've ever played. God, I can't wait to see what that team does with the PS3.

Anyway, I definitely don't agree with alot of the list... but it's just what those people chose and I at least respect the list for not simply going by raw power and whatnot. Makes it alot more interesting if you ask me.

ChickeyCantor5704d ago

Because Metroid prime has an awesome art direction.
It just looks awesome. Need to play it to understand it.

LBP is off though, Some of these people( hell i bet all) didn't even play it on their own TV. So how do those votes count?

fishd5704d ago

SOTC
ICO
GOW 1
GOW 2
OKAMI

chanmasta5703d ago

... the crap is Gran Tursimo the most beautiful game ever!?

MiloGarret5703d ago

That list is really bad, the only ones that truly belong on it are Okami, ICO and Shadow of the Colossus.

Pebz5703d ago

"The vote does not calculate the starting polygone, or otherwise compare either the graphical technical expertise, but the winner was selected the most eye pleasing game."

That is why ANY game can be on the list. While some of the games might not exactly be great technical achievements, their eye-pleasing merits is completely a subjective thing, as reflected by a vote.

I love the way opinions work on the internet!

in a nut shell...

(You're wrong! I'm right!?)

on topic :decent list, Mega Man 9 being there is a testament to what that sweet little game is. GJ Inti games!

omni_atlas5703d ago

Gran Turismo 5 prologue should be on the list because its the only game that looks completely realistic to me. When playing at certain parts it looks completely real, i.e. not computer generated but more like an interactive video capture. If you've all played it you know what I mean, and thats why I think it should have made the list for most 'beautiful' game in the world.

Bubbles if you agree, thanks.

Jake11115702d ago

Wii games beating PS3 games? That is stupid upon stupid.

Halo3?? LOL

The best looking games as of today are

1) Heavenly Sword

2) Drakes Fortune

3) MGSIV

4) Lair (You can argue controls but not graphics)

5) GT5

6) Oblivion (even though its multiplatform. It is very nice to look at)

7) Motorstorm

8) Devil May Cry

etc

How can any video gamer pic Halo 3 over any of the above. That is commical...

PS3 RULES!

That reason might be exactly why it's not on the list. Just because something looks "real", does not mean it's beautiful.

There are many things in real life that look as real as it gets, but are no where near beautiful, and in my opinion, one of those things is cars going round and round on a road. Then there are drawings and such that look no where near real, but are very beautiful.

I would say that the eyes alone do not decide what is beautiful or not, but something deeper.

Metroid Prime had awesome art direction.

Halo 3, Fallout 3, TF2, and Mega Man 9 don't deserve to be on that list though.

chanmasta5703d ago

... and Super Mario Galaxy are my top 2, others: Wario Land: Shake! and Metroid Prime 3: Corruption.

Smacktard5703d ago

Personally I think the original Metroid Prime was much more beautiful than the other two.

chanmasta5703d ago

... have only played Metroid Prime 3 so I don't know what the others are like.

I thought the art and visual style in MP3 was spectacular so if MP1 is better then that should definately be on that list.

Honolulu5703d ago

List needs more Homeworld, Windwaker and Seiken Densetsu 3.
Less Halo3, Fallout3 and Megaman9.

ChickeyCantor5703d ago

agree i was thinking of Windwaker too.

ZombieNinjaPanda5703d ago

Windwaker.

But am I the only one that thought Super Mario Sunshine was really eye pleasing for its time?

Why o why5703d ago

you are not alone there mate. That game brings back fond memories.

TheWickedOne5703d ago

half the games aren't even out yet

Tempist5703d ago

Exactly. And I do fail to understand how megaman 9 can be seen as a 'beautiful' looking game given that would mean 50% of all NES games are now considered 'beautiful' looking.

This is a very flawed list and survey.

Microsoft once tried to nab LittleBigPlanet from Sony after a few drinks

It turns out that many moons ago, Microsoft once had its eye on the Sony published LittleBigPlanet series.

Microsoft had a good idea but fumbled it again.

Project Spark idea was decent but they quickly gave up ..
LBP was wonderful

ApocalypseShadow1d 5h ago

Microsoft in a nutshell. Always tried to poach Sony employees, games, 3rd party games and devices like the depth camera that was turned into Kinect but was running on PS2 before Xbox 360. Wouldn't be surprised they wanted LBP. Just like they worked behind the scenes pushing the MLB to bring Sony's baseball game to Xbox instead of making their own.
https://www.playstationlife...

They didn't spend years trying to develop their own baseball game. They wanted Sony's game.

They're scum.

Zachmo18210h ago

Microsoft didn't force MLB on Xbox. MLB gave Sony 2 options either go multiplat or risk losing the license.

Rynxie30m ago

And why do you think MLB said that? I believe Ms approached MLB.

OtterX13h ago

"However, Healey said Media Molecule wouldn't have felt right doing that, adding it would have been "morally corrupt"."

Major kudos to Media Molecule for being an upright studio with principles.

Tody_za12h ago(Edited 12h ago)

Great, more stories like this please. Show the last of the zombies holding the line what we've been saying for years: Microsoft is anti competition, anti industry and has no interest in making games at all.

But hey, at least there's an Xbox Games Showcase to look forward to, right?

Inverno11h ago

Well considering SONY just killed the series, LBP would've been dead by now either way. Though MM probably wouldn't exist by now either, so I'm glad they stayed with SONY, hopefully they don't get shut down any time soon or ever honestly.

Inverno9h ago

They shut down the servers, that's millions of user created levels gone. That and dead are pretty much the same, it's also been years since 3 and they cancelled HUB soooo.
