The simulation and serious games studio RealTime Immersive Inc. will show us what next-gen military sim could look like in CRYENGINE. This is an example of a US Navy Virtual Ship developed in Virtual Attain CryENGINE.

Let me make this perfectly Clear.

The Virtual Reality Engine 3 which Arma 3 runs on is really really good.

Sure the Cryengine 3 has pretty bright colors but lacks detail and isn't good for an Open World Detailed intricate game such as Arma 3.

Cryengien 3 will make StarCitizen SHINE but remember space is Black so that's a lot of none detailed area.

When there is basically no difference between low and ultra settings, the game has some serious problems.

Arma 3 looks fantastic but the optimization is complete crap.

First thing I thought was "Arma 3 released not even a year ago as a PC exclusive. It is next gen!"

Then I remembered they thought it was a fantastic idea to use the same extremley unoptomized engine from 7 years ago...

I really was looking forward to this game but they should have started from the ground up on it. I wouldn't have minded waiting an extra year or two for that to happen.

It's a great engine, wonder if it will overtake unreal engine's popularity

next gen and still no hands and animation for protagonist/player doing the actions...begin from the basics and then go to lush effects

This is a military simulation, not a AAA game.

Because the ARMA engine isn't next gen and impressive enough without being compared to the amazing size and scope and physics of Cryengine (which it doesn't have)??? Seriously why bother showing anything with that overated engine?

A) this looks crappy graphics wise, B) the company builds simulator's for training. That was the point of this project, they built this virtual representation of the ship so sailors could walk through virtually and learn the basics of running the ship. It appears they don't make "games" but real world training sims.

Maybe if ARMA could one day be on consoles also, to compete with Battlefield and earn more money to invest more into their game

Why do people keep remaking things in CryEngine? A few years ago I'd understand, Crysis was amazing and you needed a monster PC to run it, but now I think there are other engines that look better. For example, the other month someone made a "Next gen" Uncharted in CryEngine - it looked worse than the PS3 engine.

Stop remaking things in unsuitable and not actually that impressive game engines!
