IGN:Leisure Suit Larry Reloaded isn’t a total bust. Its self-deprecating humor still elicits plenty of chuckles and some of the gags are gross and/or clever, but the tiresome cycle of saving and reloading just to pay your way from place to place saps away a lot of the joy. Clearly, this series got better as it went. Here’s hoping the later, much-improved adventures of Larry Laffer get the modern update treatment, because it’s wasted on this one.

Serena Nelson writes: "Here's the thing. Despite there being so many adventure game projects, they're still a small part of crowdfunding games as a whole. It's also an incredibly niche genre compared to shooters and RPGs. Which means that unless you're asking for a fraction of what you really need chances are good that you'll end up not making it. Outside of titles like Broken Age, Dreamfall Chapters and Obduction, none have breached seven digits."
Serena Nelson writes: "Kickstarter is well-known for being a platform to get ideas funded by fans and without the need to have a publisher breathing down their collective necks. And while it should be enough to give from the kindness of one's own heart there still needs to be a carrot dangling from the stick to make backers reach deep into their wallets. And that's where the reward tiers come into play."
