This looks great and it was running on the Wii U hardware. At around 6:30 you can see the Wii U buttons.

StraightPath4008d ago (Edited 4008d ago )

Very early build..seems to be running on the Wii U?! looks amazing! the artistic direction to the vibrant colours and amazing effects from the powerful Crytek 3 engine.

Is this the game that is showing off the true power of the WII U? Looks amazing regardless of the Wii U not on par with PS4 or next xbox.

If it can deliver this level of fedility and amazing looking games like this.

boy the haters have been owned badly and are put to shame. Nintendo should get this guy.

Shnazzyone4007d ago

Ho crap, look at that! It is on wiiU. So I guess that means crytek engine 3, confirmed running on wii U

lilbroRx4007d ago

It was already confirmed running perfectly on the Wii U by Crytek long ago.

ThaBlackBaron4008d ago

How can this be on Wii U and PC? Nintendo renewed the Eternal Darkness Trademark and IP... http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...
Nintendo will not let that happen. At least not on PC. Unless the name is changed. Nintendo also owns the "Sanity effects" there are more articles about the IP and Trademarks. Anyway I am really looking forward to this game!

CouldHaveYelledUiiW4008d ago (Edited 4008d ago )

Nintendo could let it happen.

Dennis Dyack was still friends with Nintendo- in interviews he spoke about having correspondence with many high ranking people in Nintendo. ---It may have changed when the stock Nintendo had in SK got ruined because of the EPIC lawsuit.

So, it is possible that Nintendo may turn a blind-eye to this and allow it. They may even pick it up but Dennis Dyack may want to expand to other platforms or PC just to grow his new companies profile.

I wish him good fortune and I can't wait to get my hands on it.

Edit: I hope that Dennis asked first and that he and Nintendo came to this compromise (he could make a game very similar to ED but not use the name in exchange for a port and no lawsuit).

Rubberlegs4008d ago (Edited 4008d ago )

That's why this is being called a spiritual successor and not an actual sequel, same with the title being called Shadow of the Eternals. Its not using the trademark name and any other trademarks associated with it would be easy to avoid with a simple name change.

This is the only way they can really do a sequel for this without having to go Nintendo and Dennis doesn't want to keep this as an exclusive Nintendo title. He says at the end of the video that he wants to see this on other platforms based on well it does for the Wii U and PC.

iplay1up24008d ago

I see what you are saying, but why did Nintendo renew the IP/Trademark? If this game is a "spiritual successor" does that mean that Nintendo may make another Eternal Darkness and Nintendo's version would not be the "spiritual successor", but the true successor. I am totally not arguing I am just a little confused by this.

CouldHaveYelledUiiW4008d ago

This is the only thing I worry about. If Nintendo was going to be a Jerk (and I don't think that they will- but this is hypothetical) they could sew them for infringement on their IP.

D. Dyack is on record saying that they are copying from the original game. Plus, they are the creators of the former game.

So, lets say 2 years from now Nintendo's new ED2 fails but Shadow of the Eternals sells like french fries... couldn't a hypothetical-jerky-Nintendo sue them for loss of profits?

Saying something like the reason they lost profits is because fans of the series did not view their sequel as the true sequel?

This is why I hope that D. Dyack has talked things out with either great lawyers or Nintendo.

I am very confused about this

ChickeyCantor4007d ago

You pretty much are about most things.

That level of fidelity, the details, the sphere.....do want!
The trailer blew me away, they did some crazy stuff with CryEngine3.

10 Kickstarter Horror Adventures That Deserved to Be Funded

Serena Nelson writes: " I want to specifically take a look at ten Kickstarter horror adventure games that didn't hit the mark that should have been easily funded. Horror is a popular genre, especially during this time of year as All Hallow's Eve approaches. What better way than to scare you with some unfortunate tales of loss? Read on, if you dare."

Agree with about half the list. Big outlier is shadow of the eternals. Glad that one failed both times.

David Hayter’s Kickstarter Saga

Josh Griffiths writes: "Yes, the gravely voice known to a generation as Big Boss and Solid Snake is famous for Metal Gear, but he’s had other roles in recent years. You may be surprised how many of them came from Kickstarter. He’s been involved in eight different Kickstarter projects, one of which was a movie, to varying degrees."

Shadow Of The Eternals is still coming. They just wanted to expand the universe.

http://n4g.com/news/1835518...

Most likely they will make a Movie or a TV series along side the game.

DarkOcelet3015d ago

I think we might get a big reveal at E3 this year for the game and an actual release date this time.

It feels like ages since we got any news about this game.

blackblades3015d ago

Hell winning the last PowerBall you can buy a company or create your on company just for it. Also back up kickstarter and get some profit out of it.
