The wonderful thing about Steam Greenlight is that it gives a game with even the most obscure premise an opportunity to reach the masses. Such is the case of Receiver, a first-person shooter built over the span of seven days for a FPS Challenge. While it teeters on being more of a tech demo than a game, it still somehow lures you in as you begin to unravel the mysteries of its bizarre world. One thing is for certain, you haven’t played a shooter quite like this before.

The 7 Day FPS game jam kicked off last Saturday. With five days left in the jam, several interesting projects are already developing.

Destiny has ushered in this year’s Fall of Titan shooters (which doesn’t include Titanfall), and we’re soon to be graced by yet another Call of Duty game in the form of COD 11: Are They Even Trying to Name These Things Anymore, a game with notably fewer market competitors this year, what with the absence of the now delayed Battlefield Hardline: You’d Better Believe This Will Be Controversial."
