CEO Feargus Urquhart of Obsidian Entertainment would love another crack at the gambling capital of the world revisiting Fallout: New Vegas, or just the series in general. Fallout: L.A.?
They'd definitely stick to the West Coast, so it would "probably be The Boneyard," which is the city built apart L.A.'s ruins. There are plenty of obstacles right now, like platform limbo.
Please let it happen, if South park SoT turns out really good i'm sure other devs will give them a chance again and hopefully without giving them a ridiculous deadline
I approve of that statement. I'd rather have a KoToR 3. Great games.
I'm a big Patsy Cline, Katie Thompson kind of guy so the music absolutely thrilled me.
Going and slaughtering Ghouls whilst "I'm so Blue", or "Big Iron" plays in the background is magical for me, as I usually play games with my own music playing.
Some of you people compaling about games like Skyrim and Fall out make me sick - Bethesda did there best to make sure we get a descent experiance with the dinosaur tech that they haev to work with.
Also, would you call a save game bug that was omnipresent in the PS3 version of Skyrim that rendered the game nigh unplaybable making sure we 'get a decent experience'? They even withheld PS3 review copies so the bug wouldn't affect day one sales.
Back on topic FO:NV, was a great improvement on FO3 and frankly I'd rather see FO:NV2 than FO4.
Fallout 4 needs to happen next-gen. Fallout 3 is top 5 this gen for me.
I loved Fallout 3 when it first came out (and years following), but, after playing New Vegas, there was no reason for me to go back to it.
New Vegas improved on so many things. The writing was better, it added extra game mechanics, multiple story paths, etc. Not to mention it put more emphasis on the VATS system - adding more stat driven actions and overall just balancing out the system a bit more.
It just made Fallout 3 feel shallow and uninteresting for me.
I would love to see Obsidian handle another Fallout game. Perhaps with a longer development time this time around though. If they were able to make a New Vegas in just around a year and a half, I would love to see what they could do with a real development cycle (around three years).
Lets not forget the map was smaller and the inter linking missions at the end of the game would ruin the game for you if you made the wrong choices.
Combat was better.
Survival was turned up several gears.
Quest options gave replay-ability.
More interesting side quests.
Unique weapons that were... unique!
Fallout 3 pissed me off so much, unique weapons were exactly the same as the standard weapons in appearance. Minus the name you couldn't tell the difference.
Can't wait for Fallout 4 or Fallout: NV2 or Fallout: LA. I'd take them all! :)
OT
I liked both 3 and NV equally (despite people arguing one better than the other), and I hope this time they can add some type of continuation after the main story instead of "ok that's it, reload a previous save." I understand why Bethesda did it (although I like how it was handled in 3 better with the Broken Steel) however there's those moments where we would like to clean up missed side quests without that nagging feeling of "you still need to finish the main story."
Still, if Obsidian were to make it, maybe they should find a better engine than the Creation Engine.
Skyrim is buggier than Daggerfall.
