Dr. Greg Zeschuk matches genre to gravity with video game beer pairings

For those of us older than our local legal drinking age, playing the right game the right beer is a pretty difficult combination to beat. Finding the most correct pairing of game and brew, however, can be more difficult than it might seem at first blush.

The two series have very similar aesthetics. If a Halo RPG was ever made, Mass Effect would be good template to take influence from.

@disagreers The only thing I mentioned was that the series have a similar look. I said nothing negative about either franchise.......

The_Sage2706d ago

I don't think they look similar.

Sciurus_vulgaris2706d ago

I think the artstyles are similar, especially Mass Effect 1 and Halo 1-3. Both series became less colourful overtime, but I still see some simularities in art design.

The problem is the Bioware founder don't work for Bioware anymore... hence why I better temper my expectations for ME Andromeda.

Games like Gears of War 4 which continued what Epic Games started, Donkey Kong Country Returns and Tropical Freeze which continued what Rare started, Halo 5 which continued what Bungie started...

I've seen a lot of sequels do their originals justice this generation.

I have faith they'll get it right.

Indeed a perfect example is Dark Souls. 1 was outstanding, 2 was ok but meh, 3 brought it back. However sometimes you get lucky but Bioware hasn't been lucky yet, instead they're busy checking off lists instead of finding their original or surpassing magic.

Shows you how out of touch they are. They probably were like "bu bu but...space"

That's easy to say in retrospect but it was 10 years ago. I'm sure at the conceptual stage it did resemble halo, with halo being the most popular sci-fi space franchise at the time, and also MS's biggest franchise. There weren't a lot of sci-fi franchises with the depth of Halo's story, and you have to admit there were similarities between the reapers and the flood.

Remember the original Mass effect was a MS exclusive game, so I can definitely see the conflict. But boy am I glad they let it happen.

MatrixxGT2707d ago

Yeah that was a long time ago and probably even longer being in conceptual stage of development.

Shame MS didn't buy Bioware before EA , imagine MS owning both FPS & TPS Space Shooters .

sullynathan2707d ago

Bioware would probably cease to exist if Microsoft bought them.

XXanderXX2707d ago (Edited 2707d ago )

That can happen with any Company when buying another company , it can either happen right away or over a period of time .

sullynathan2707d ago

The founders quit on their own, Microsoft has an even worse track record than EA when it comes to buying companies.

kraenk122706d ago

Yeah, because they have such a good track record....

XXanderXX2706d ago

As far that I know all companies have their mistakes & failures when it come to mergers , buyouts & acquisitions.
