Off-screen is basically the primary reason I bought these on the Wii U. If they add nothing, I'd probably consider the PS3 version depending on which one my friends choose to buy.

It's a huge variable , that in my trully honest opinion makes the wiiu version superior.

I don't think people understand how revoloutionary it is to be able to play uninterupted.
I play in bed , I play whilst watching tv , I play in lying down positions. And it just generally feels cool to play on the gampad sometimes. I probably play more on the Gamepad than on the TV tbh....

Please don't respond telling me I'm an idiot. This is how I feel about this feature. It has tons of potential and adds a new dimension to the lazyness of gaming.

If only Sony would have done this with the Vita, I may hight have not traded it in. But they didn't and totally missed an opportunity here.

I almost did the same, but kept mine. I like the WIIU because it was made from day one to do multi screen and off screen gaming. I like Sony's ability to adapt, but I think they are having troubles, thus taking too long to provide the service they showed off at E3 last year. Will see how they connect the ps4 with the vita, but in the mean time I'm enjoying Black OPS 2 laying in bed.

Every day I look at my wii u I tell myself why, I don't like it. If you don't own one don't buy one. Unless you must have super Mario games. And a gamepad the last 2 hours on a full charge.

Wow, first off you're missing tons of great games if you think it only has a good Mario game. Trine 2, Nano Assault Neo, Scribblenauts and ZombiU are all top notch games. Plus Black Ops 2, AC3, Batman, ME3, Darksiders 2 or Tekken Tag Tournament 2 are multiplats with added extras. Sure some of them are older ports (ME3, Batman, Darksiders 2, Tekken), but AC3 was 3 weeks old and Black Ops 2 was 1 week old, so you can't call them old ports.

As for your gamepad, you might want to get the battery checked. Mine lasts way longer than 2 hours on a charge, even on games that require constant use of it like ZombiU. It doesn't really bother me because I never game for more than 2-3 hours at a time, so the battery works perfect for me. I charge it in-between uses anyways, so it's always ready to go. Not to mention that there is a 3rd party battery that is coming out which will double the play time to 5-6 hours on a full charge. For a game like Black Ops I tend to use the Pro Controller anyways, and that thing lasts like 80 hours on a full charge, so that's plenty of juice.

To each their own though.

That guy is just a douche. There is no way on Gods earth my Gamepad lasts 2 hours. More like 4 at least.
Even then you have the Charging cable to just plug and keep on playing. NOT. AN . ISSUE .

I've bought NSMBU , Nintendo Land , ZombiU - all amazing exclusives . AC3 , Batman , Mass effect 3 , TTT2 , Sonic racing , Blops 2 , Trine 2 , Nano assault .

And I love everyone of them for one reason or another. Even CoD on Wiiu is amazing because you and your friends can fight locally with a screen each....

Wiiu is amazing.

i saw NG3: RE on that list and seriously i tried to put it on the gamepad and I thought i wasn't doing it right until i noticed it in option setting lol ( DUH)

off screen play is a great way to free up the big screen when the wife wants it.

Zelda Replay: Majora's Mask

VGChartz's Evan Norris: "Is Ocarina of Time as legendary as I remembered it? For the most part, yes. In spite of a handful of missteps — a few obtuse puzzles, some tedious backtracking, and a clunky stealth sequence — I don't believe the last 23 years have been unkind to it. Ocarina remains a brilliant example of the medium, a landmark game that shaped the future of its own franchise and 3D gaming in general. After more than two decades it retains its inventive dungeon design, challenging puzzles, dynamic combat, wistful storyline, unforgettable music, and empowering open-air freedom. I feel confident calling it one of the greatest games of the fifth generation, even if I'm no longer prepared to list it among the five best games ever made."

Pure unadulterated fun. They don't make them like this anymore...especially not the triple A industry.

Back when video rental was a thing, I rented out Majoria's Mask, I never finished it though. I did buy the 3DS version before the eshop shutdown, so maybe one day I'll finally play through the whole thing, it's amazing how well these games hold up though. I briefly played Ocarina of Time for a while and it was really fun.

Wii U games that still haven't been ported to Switch

The Nintendo Switch is potentially nearing its lifespan, and several Wii U games haven't found their way over as ports yet.

I think it's better to leave games like AC: Amiibo Festival and Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash forgotten on the Wii U. Best case, they are mediocre games; worse case, they are very bad. It was a dark time for the Wii U, and the first only exists to sell Amiibo cards, whereas the second was put together in a couple of months with a shoestring budget, and it shows.

The rest of the list does have some really cool games, though. I would love to see a remake of Star Fox Zero with decent controls, and Xenoblade X doesn't require that much modification to work.

How would XCX work without dual screens functionality?

Cacabunga17d ago

Same as Paper Mario color splash. One of the best wiiu games and getting even better with dual screen. Same reason why i prefer Splatoon 1

This article leaves out Nintendo's most controversial game to date devils Third.
I personally found the cover system really fun in that one compared to at the time most fps games completely lacking one.

Stevonidas16d ago

Devil's Third is HIGHLY underrated.

repsahj16d ago

They should remake Starfox to the switch 2. Very beautiful game during gamecube days.

Chocoburger16d ago

Kirby is always ignored or forgotten by people, so good to see it mentioned here.
Play Kirby Canvas Curse on DS, and then play Rainbow Curse on Wii U, they're really fun and unique 'platformers' without any actual jumping.

Nintendo's Massacre Of The 3DS And Wii U Is Finally Complete, Regrettably

Hanzala from eXputer: "The cruel hammer of Nintendo has fallen. Farewell, 3DS and Wii U, you surely brightened my life and many others; you won't be forgotten."
