Actually... I'm not sold on this. Effectively, now the developer is trying to design 4 games in one. Each with a unique artstyle and gameplay style. They run the risk of creating 4 games that aren't as fully fleshed out.

What was wrong with taking their open world GTA formula from before and developing it further? Spiderman in IMO should create a much more fun gameplay environment than Infamous or Crackdown combined.

Maybe because they tried it last time out(or the time before, sorry) with SM3 and the web slinging mechanic gets amazingly annoying and can really tire the thumbs, at a guess.

Personally, as long as they give enough game time to each of the individual Spidermen we'll be OK and playing as four different characters should break up the monotony of earlier games very well, gives the game visual as well as game play variety and stops us getting bogged down as previous titles have allowed.

WoS had a couple of decent combat ideas and as a result we had some flowing fights in that game and hopefully the first person stuff here will be added to and not be in place of a lot of that great, slick fighting last time showed us.

I’d Die For A Web-Slinging Spider-Verse Game in the Same Visual Style As the Animated Films

TW: “With the recent release of the sequel film, Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, I’ve been revisiting the astounding world of the Spider-Verse, enjoying both the prequel and the new sequel film in all their glory; and it’s led me to ask one question — why the hell isn’t there a Spider-Verse game?”

Didn't they already have that as a costume in the previous game.

There sure was a super sweet looking cell shaded suit. Made you feel like your actually playing a comic.

The look is perfect we got enough games in that art style.

It would still be sick though. And I dont mean cell shading to cut corners. It would have to be amazing like the movies themselves.

potatoseal314d ago

I too would like a whole game with the entire world looking like the animated movie. It could be awesome

I like this style better imo

"I only wish we had five years on any one of the Spider-Man games we made!"

Well, you don't have to work for Activision ya know. But yeah, they did a fair job considering the limited resources and well....Activision.
