Matt Lees from OXM writes "Borderlands was a surprise smash hit, but things could have been very different. Dropping the first game's original gritty photorealism for the now-iconic cel-shaded style mere months before release was a move that most studios would have thought suicidal. Three years and six million copies later, it's impossible to imagine Borderlands without it."

The Suzuki Escudo Pikes Peak from the Gran Turismo series
Nissan Skyline from Need for Speed Underground
Motorcycle Steamroller from Dead Rising 3
And finally a car you never drive but saves your ass over and over : Honey Badger from COD MW2

I gave up on the 1st boarderlands game 3 times and sold it 3 times too. Till a great friend showed & explained to me the RPG element of the game( i just could'nt get my head around how one game works better than the other and this gun you are'nt ranked up enough to use yet etc, etc). Yes, yes, laugh if you will at me, it took abit to grasp for me. but, Since then I've found it a very hard game to put dowm. I'm really stoked & excited for the 2'nd game. it comes out just before my B'day too. Surely that's a day off work???? lol.
Borderlands 2 was great before it was even made! Don't joke like that!
I'm at the point where previews for this game don't whet my appetite... I cannot WAIT for this game.
