It's been an amazing year for gamers as a veritable avalanche of quality games have hit store shelves in the past few months. But while all of them are worth playing, only a few have what it takes to rise to the top and attain "must own" status. And not only is the latest title from acclaimed developer Bioware a "must own" title, it is also an early frontrunner for Game of the Year honors.
GamePro knew that they had something special on their hands right from the beginning. When they received the game for review for their January issue, they were in a heated debate as to which game should win their coveted Game of the Month award. They had a tough time deciding between some amazing games, such as Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty 4 and Mario Galaxy.
Thanks to their innovative approach to gaming, RPGs like Dark Souls, Final Fantasy VII, and Dragon Quest left a significant impact on the genre.
ES3 set things off, it's a shame they got greedy and decided to cut corners so the executives could get huge pay days.
GF365: "A friend makes the adventure all the more fun. Here are the best video game companions that will keep you company."

We already knew what Game Informer scored this game.
Nice score but from the GamePro that gives 4.5/5 to NFS:PS and Boogie, ME should have gotten 6/5 or something ;)
But really, good score for a great game. "The Best RPG of 2007" and "Frontrunner for Game of the Year honors"... nuff said. True and great.
MASS EFFECT FTW !!!
