the thing thats weird about this story is that is says nothing of the fact that at least on the Xbox One X, it has 3 different graphics priority modes: Enhanced resolution, enhanced visuals or enhanced frame rates. This is relavant to the story as different priorities affect the loads. They mention that the ps4 pro version dipped less but what are they comparing that to? if the one x is in enhanced resolution mode its going to be carrying about 30% more resolution so a dip makes sense. if...
Physical sales are lame. Discs get scratched and are the slowest most inefficient storage media on the planet, switch cards get lost and you literally pay for the added cost of the card in the retail price. Not to mention big games have long lines and stock problems.
Digital + 7200 rpm hard drive is better and an ssd is the best imo. I already rigged both my one X’s and Pro w/ SSDs and buy everything digital. Loading is fast and there’s no need to get up and swap a disc. My...
For those of us that don’t only play PS4 exclusives I strongly disagree.
I bought a one x for the graphics and performance. Most of my favorite games are multiplatform (gtaV, AC Origins, PCars 2 and Forza7 and now WWII) so buying an X was a no brainer for me. I have two high end 4k tvs and I like my experiences to make the most of them. I bought the PS4 pro for the same reason before the X was released. I will keep my Pro for its great exclusives but in my case the One X is a better option and runs significantly better than my pro (directly compared several games...
agreed. they made some dumb decisions, fired the people responsible and have done everything right (for the most part) ever since. at this point MS biggest problem isn't themselves so much as elitist fanboys - which also explains why they hate on the One X so much as well. They can't stand not having the power argument too and place all the blame solely on the importance of exclusives.
Don't get me wrong i know exclusives are important, but they aren't ...
EA really F'd this one. They should have just charged $80 for the game and seriously backed off MT's, Loot etc if they're so worried about recouping cost. Its one thing for a player to want to buy some extra content if they so choose, its another to have to buy it just to make any progress or experience parts of the game you thought you paid for in the initial cost.
i know for a fact its hard to make a decent ROI on big games these days, hence the increased in...
Not when you’re on holiday break with nothing to do and you wanna see just how good that new console is compared to your other one. I’ve done this with a couple games now. :)
lol! But also no. :)
Haha I did the same thing! Same result. The Pro version seems to tear a lot too which is strange as I rarely if ever see that on the Pro. It was immediately clear which platform runs it better though. The X is sharper, smoother by a noticeable margin.
Dope. I went out trying to buy a (second) One X her in Los Angeles yesterday and had to go to 3 different stores. Ended up getting the last one at a Target. Even then the staff thought they were gone but a dude (thx Jeremy) found it in the back stock room after nearly giving up.
All anecdotal obviously but even I was surprised at how hard it was to find a $500 console in stock. I was expecting a 20 min run to the store but spent a couple of hours.
If you say so.... seems they got doom to run (at half the frame rate, missing lots of effects like even spec hits/reflections and sitting at 720p) and Skyrim is pretty ancient at this point.... and both are still inferior versions of what Xbox and PS4 can do. I think Switch should stick to what it’s good at and leave games like this to more capable machines.
The cpu isn’t a huge upgrade but the gpu is. Even if the cpu is holding it back, it’s not preventing much from a gen8 baseline. If anything it’s only a testament to how powerful the gpu really is... and it’s still clocked higher than the PS4 pro and doing way more than ANY console on the market. The differences between the two systems are noticeable. I’ve spent hours going back and forth on my pro and X. So even if it’s holding it back, the rest of the xb1s and ps4s are being held back moreso...
These headphones are crap imo. I had them and upgraded to the platinum ones which are better but still not great. They have very little bass and the wireless connection is plagued with cutouts and pops. Some cutouts in my case would last as long as 5-6 seconds. This is being about 6-7 ft (2 m) from the usb receiver dongle. Do yourself a favor and shop around if you’re in the market. I recently picked up a pair of Plantronics RIG800’s which are more expensive but 300% better. They also have th...
For how many times Sony fanboys talked so much shit to everyone, even to me as an owner of a PS4 (apparently owning a PS4 isn’t enough if you express a concern or detail that isn’t perceived as amazing on it).
For right now I will sit back and enjoy every one of these posts and think about all the past resolutiongate and framerate gates and even a shrubgate (gtaV xb1 v PS4 launch), the constant argument that the PS4 was “50% more powerful” than xb1in every comparison video ...
If it were base hardware that would literally be 720p w/base textures vs 1080p render resolution but with double the resolution textures and shadows and more effects to boot... just for perspective for those not in the 4k owners club. 1440p compared to 2160p is absolutely noticeable on a 4k screen. Especially when you consider the pixel jump is 2-3x higher than when comparing on base hardware.
its nice to have the performance for those of us who are willing to pay for it and have it support our upgraded electronics. its not just this game and its not just resolution, its textures, its frame rate, its color gamut, its 4k bluray, dolby atmos, its faster load times and smoother animation... don't pretend its resolution-gate all over again. its far beyond that and some of us want the better experience. taking a road trip in a toyota corolla and taking one in mercedes E class both...
absolutely you can.
Agreed. I own both the One X and PS4 Pro. Both are lovely but it’s immediately clear the One X is the superior hardware. The graphics are better, it’s smaller, looks badass and is much quieter than the Pro (by a lot).
Pretty much all of my multiplatform games going forward will definitely be on X but I have the Pro to handle any potential PS4 exclusives I am interested in.
I’m liking the sound of that.
The only real disadvantages MS has are exclusives and a remnant post launch stigma. Both inflated by fanboys.
They now have the better hardware in addition to more game services, BC, consumer policies, universal apps, play anywhere, network speed/reliability and yes the cloud (Azure specifically). They’ll even have an advantage bringing vr to Xbox one x too because of its power, it’s running Windows so it has a full backing of 3rd party developers and hardware makers. That’...
