Not really convinced on The Division yet even after playing in both betas and trying it on both console and PC. There are some big open questions still with it.
#1 the amount of content outside of the DZ, since players won't always want to be in the DZ. With the base itself only having 3 wings it looks like it won't take long to fully unlock. If it's less than ~15 hours of sp gameplay and then you have to head to the DZ, gamers will tire of it quickly.
PS4 has been proven 10-20% more powerful time and time again since they were released. It's silly to even debate that any more, that's a closed case.
The only question on each game release is whether the dev allowed the ps4 to be 10-20% more detailed/higher res 1080p vs 900p on xb1 to reach the same framerates, etc. Or if the devs crippled the ps4 version and throttled it down 10-20% from what it could do so that the 2 are close and xb1 supporters don't complain...
Not sure why this is still a debate. PS4 has been proven more powerful countless times. For any game, either the PS4 is slightly (or sometimes more than slightly) sharper and more detailed, or the PS4 version is toned down to make it equal to the XB1 version to avoid complaints.
The game in general was killed by no campaign and such limited content at launch. It's a case of a season pass/dlc getting ahead of itself, by gutting too much from the base game for planned dlc. It made the game get old quickly, and so many people left that I'm not sure many will even bother with the future dlc.
To boot, the PC version is heavily full of aimbots and wallhackers, so either you have to cheat too or get stomped (like most popular pc mp games). I'...
I have a ps4 but a good deal one a XB1 came up over the holidays that I couldn't pass up. So I ended up getting one. But I honestly regret it. I thought it would be cool, but video/movies are smoother on ps4, and any decent game with a small handful of exceptions are on ps4 or PC in higher res. The XB1 menu is clunky, and I totally understand why friends who had ps4, xb1, and a gaming pc said they never turn on their XB1. Not trying to bash it, just being completely honest.

For me, I enjoyed the content outside of the Dark Zone, even though it was limited. I'm very interested to see how much non-Dark Zone content there will be in the final release. If it's only 5-10 hours and then you're expected to head to the Dark Zone, that greatly reduces my interest in it. IMO it would need to be closer to Destiny where there's plenty of both pve or pvp content to keep you busy.
The reason being that would mean even if the Dark Zone is ...
Not too surprised either. I have both PS4 and XB1, as well as a nice gaming PC. Not trying to feed the descent into PS4 v XB1 debating, but having both and playing both consoles plenty now with many games and general use, PS4 is absolutely more powerful. That's pretty obvious. A specific game may be a litter better tuned here and there for XB1, but generally as a whole XB1 feels like a 720p console, PS4 seems like a 1080p console, and if you want better go PC. Most games where I'...
Like others said, MSFT can't really drastically improve cpu performance mid-cycle on a console since devs have to make games run on the lowest-common denominator hardware. They can make some minor changes to maybe make a model with an ssd or something that will do faster load times. Devs are already leaning towards PS4 more just for more sales and the larger playerbase. They aren't going to make 2 versions of a game just for XB1 for the small number of players that would own a slig...
The massive cloud tech they've been pushing since launch as their trump card, has only seemed to add something comparable to some minor PhysX type destruction in Crackdown. Plus it's only for mp while online. Maybe they are building up and starting slow, but to be over 2 years from launch and still a while away yet from even the first game to begin even modestly using cloud is a little underwhelming. The problem is although cloud is a hot-word in tech, the application of it is more...
Way too early to say, we're at a minimum 3 or 4 years away from the next gen, and there are lots of huge open questions that remain to be answered between now and then.
1. Will AMD still be around? They are kind of hanging by a thread, and if they go down, what will that do to chip/console prices with far less competition for Intel.
2. VR - will it take off by then and be huge, or will consumers be disinterested in it as an alternative to on-screen gamin...
4k today is at the far end of the spectrum, but it would be hard not to imagine 4k in the next consoles. 4k is the next major jump from today's tech, along with VR. Kind of the next round as blu-ray was to dvd.
Right now, a 980ti for example can only barely do 4k (really need to sli). So we're probably a year or maybe 2 yet away from the confluence of both 4k monitors and 4k-capable (60 fps) video cards that are in mainstream budgets. The magic spot is a 60fps 4k ...
2x more intrusive ads on XB1 also. I also only spend about a tenth of 1% of my gaming time in the menu. But I agree there is some room for improvement in the PS4 UI.
The vast majority of this money is from Madden and FIFA packs. People go crazy over them. EA mentioned before that they made over $500M just from Madden *packs* alone last year. It's really not so much DLC like so many posters have referred to. But it is a larger issue with the pack/case/chest gold rush boom that devs are seeing in games like Madden, FIFA, CS:GO, Hearthstone, H1Z1, Payday 2, Halo 5, etc. You're only going to see more and more games with those types of things adde...
They should probably call it patch .70 or something. Patch 1.0 is release, and it's not a fully working product or finished yet. It has some parts that are working but that's about it. In fact I'd consider SC very much alpha right now. So them referring to it as patch 2.0 is a little shady and misleading, although you could say that about the whole SC project.
I'd be disappointed if we don't hear anything from Quantic Dreams Heavy Rain PS4 remaster (a poorly kept secret).
An actual No Man's Sky release date would be nice too, my hype for that has pretty much faded. It's tough to stay excited for games that are marketed 2-3+ years before release. I never understand the reasoning behind marketing a game that early.
A AAA PS4 exclusive or 2 would be nice too, and is probably due. Sony could really...
Dice's hands are tied a little bit since some of the modes could give movie spoilers that they don't want to give.
I've played quite a bit of the beta on both pc and ps4, and have a bit of a dilemma. On ps4, the resolution and controls make long distance shots and sniping awfully difficult, and resolution/gfx are a notch down from a decent pc. But on pc, people are already getting banned nearly every match for hacks/aimbots. The beta has only been out a few d...
Not getting a dime from me until this is final and playable. The we just need another $100M to add space pets or w/e little extra feature they can think of using as an excuse for more money got out of hand long ago. At some point more money doesn't help development, just put out a working product.
Regardless of this bad sketch, I have never understood how Jimmy Kimmel has a late night tv show. He is by far the least funny and least likable host on late night. He's smug and I don't think I've ever even seen a hint of anything funny (or even interesting) when I've given his show a chance. The only thing on his show that is even watchable are the music guests.
And the anti-Twitch comments are ignorant too. Just because you don't understand somethin...
I will say there is a wide range game to game in what the extra exclusive content is, when there is any. It's never anything too huge though, or the devs would just sell it as DLC or part of the season pass. But for example, Batman: AK had the Scarecrow piece that was better.
As for Mad Max, I wasn't real impressed by what I've seen so far. It has elements of looking good. But there are some major and glaring things I saw in a recent Twitch stream by the devs...
I think the author forgot or doesn't realize the game production process, where the "gold" version of the game has to be sent to manufacturers of the discs and packaging at minimum 1 month, usually more, before release. So the version on disc can be a quite old build. As long as console releases largely sell on physical disc, and even many PC copies do, that will be the situation. Someday maybe in the not distant future games will 100% go fully digital in console and PC and t...
