To me I can clearly see the improved graphics. It's not going to be a different game, it's just a remaster. But graphics quality is subjective like audio quality. An audiophile can easily tell the difference between a mid-range home receiver and speakers and a high-end receiver and speakers. But many people can't tell the audio difference between a $5 set of earbuds and a $500 pair of Shure or high-end Sennheiser headphones.
For those in other parts of the world, in the US "loogy" is common slang for flem and spit. So, logi is a little close and not a very flattering name.
Not a big fan of the Logitech keyboards (I use a Corsair mechanical), but love my Loogy 500s mouse and mx518 before that. I haven't found another brand of mouse that feels quite as right as theirs do.
1. Xbox BC isn't even out yet, so praising it before release is more than a little premature.
2. It's streaming emulated games, same as PS Now which has been available for some time.
3. It's a LIMITED list of only 100 games to start, less than PS Now currently. That's also less than 1 of 10 xbox 360 games released on disc lol. Wait until people realize that when the initial list comes out.
4. PS3 did this exact thing with PS2 limited bc and they took ...
The reports here and elsewhere are a little unclear as to whether the menu is simply causing the fans to run at high rpm, or if it's actually caused any real overheating/damage. Fans running high rpm by itself doesn't hurt anything. Obviously though with it being in the menu, it's pretty clear it's a game coding thing rather than the system doing it. It's likely, although surprising, if Sony lets devs adjust fan or worse yet cpu speeds. You'd think that would be ha...
Amped is the only game in the list that was good IMO.
His comment goes to show the larger problem at Nintendo, which is that they apparently don't understand what gamers want. They thought what turned out to be their biggest game in 5 years was going to not sell well, while pushing other terribly designed games that no one wants. Nintendo has such a history of amazing games, it's incredible that they are so far out of touch. They need a CEO change to someone more in touch with gamers. People want games like Castlevania, Super Mario ...
Did PS2 backwards compatibility win the console war for PS3? No, in fact it was so irrelevant and unused that Sony eventually took the feature out. When people A) realize it's a very limited list of 360 games, not remotely all, and B) that outdated games aren't as fun as you thought they might be and how much better graphically the next-gen games are when you go back and play them...reality will set in just like is did with the Playstation gamers. MSFT is identically repeating what...
A slightly misleading title. Most popular infers highest rated, or maybe best reviewed. But what they are saying is that theirs was the most attended. Their conferences could have been good or bad, they just had the most people attending to see what they had to announce.
If it were full bc of all 360 games it might be more useful, but being limited to a short list of less than 10% of the 360 dvd games (at least to start) isn't overly exciting. I think that will start to sink in once the list is released. That list has to get pretty close to 100% before I can ditch my 360. We've all been through this exact limited bc thing before with fat ps3->ps2 bc.
I have massive respect for true girls and women in gaming and think they're amazing. But likewise, there are some female streamers and cosplayers that aren't really gamers and are more just kind of niche models faking an interest in gaming for money. It's usually easy to tell the difference in a few minutes.
Gears - yes
Fable and Halo - rental
...the others in the article were pretty awol from E3, which tempers my excitement. I can't really get excited about games that appear to be > a year away and/or no real gameplay is shown (ex. Recore). Kind of like movies early in development, as budgets have increased more and more you see game development falling apart before a game is finished. They realized it destroys the brand to push out crap, so sometimes they just shelve...
I loved the mech combat part of 2142, but another near-future BF would be so close to just a another repeat COD:AW and the upcoming COD:BO3 (and AW was meh). It would definitely temper my expectations for the next BF, and I'd have to really have to take a close look after release before buying.
I see mobile gaming as supplementary to traditional gaming, certainly not a replacement or substitute. Mobile gaming may be more popular in Japan due to a greater use of mass transit and a larger spent on a train or bus. But in the US, that's not really an issue. My wife plays Candy Crush once in a while, and I might spend 30 minutes a month (at most) playing a mobile game while waiting in an office. But I spend dozens of hours a month on PC and console gaming. It's really apples...
The main thing is the next system needs to support smooth 4K playback, whether it's locally on media or streamed. The streamed idea has pros and cons. On the upside it would be nice to be able to play my library of games without swapping discs, or worrying about discs scratching. BUT, a streaming box would have all the disadvantages of no offline, no playing if the network is down (cough PSN cough), and no trade-in or reselling of games. There's also the bandwidth requirement, whi...
It's way (way) too early to make that call on it being a fad or not. It won't even be determined for a few years until we start getting the 2nd and even 3rd generation of vr/ar. We won't be able to really tell how well it is adopted and the staying power until they are affordable due to market economics and volume, and the use expands beyond just gaming to things like movies, porn, and maybe things we haven't thought much about like education or engineering. It's a lot ...
This is the 1.0 version of this technology, so expect to pay a premium for awhile. The first cd players were over $2000 when they first came out.
I enjoyed the last Tomb Raider. But there would need to be quite a bit more than what was in their E3 demo which looked like a QTE game, to be anywhere near a GOTY candidate. QTE games look nice, but are often just worthy of a rental, and from a gamer standpoint nowhere near the level of a deeper game.
Microsoft has been pushing big deals on xbones for awhile, so if you don't have one already I'd agree waiting for black friday if you can. Even without waiting for bf, you should be able to get some combination of $100 worth off or more on a bundle if you look around. Everywhere is doing some combination of free game, trade-in bonus, free gift card, etc.
There are maybe 4 PS3 games I'd ever think about going back and playing, and all 4 of them either have remastered PS4 versions out now or have PS4 versions announced as coming soon. Last of Us, God of War 3, Heavy Rain, and Beyond: Two Souls.
As for Xbone bc, remember back when PS3 first came out and had PS2 bc, but then people were disappointed when they found out it was only for a fairly short list of ~100 games? Xbox 360 had over 1100 games released on disc, and MSF...
Either way I wouldn't pay full $40 release price. I think this is more of a $20 game. As fun as they are, they are short with limited replayability, and it clearly isn't vastly improved. I'll get it, but will wait for the price to come down on a sale.
